Irene M. Bittner, 83, Green Bay resident, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001 at a local nursing home. She was born March 28, 1918 in Aniwa, WI to the late Peter and Etta (Rupp) Hoersch. Irene married Walter Bittner in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1963. She volunteered her time and talents in the church mission group. Irene was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Jedlowski, Green Bay one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Mary Bittner, Devine, Texas 13 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild one brother, Clarence ( Margaret) Hoersch, Wausau. She was preceded in death by, one daughter, Marilyn Prenger one grandson, Brian Jedlowski one great-grandson, Jonta Jedlowski and two brothers, Norman and Lawrence. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 645 S. Irwin Ave., until time of Mass. Mass of the Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Fr. Al Lis O.F.M. officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, De Pere. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
