Peters Hertha E. Peters, 93, Wausau, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. Hertha was born May 22, 1912, to the late August and Bertha (Neuman) Zahrt in the town of Ringle. She married Karl W. Peters on Aug. 17, 1940, in the town of Easton. He preceded her in death in 1992. Hertha lived in Sheboygan and Wittenberg until 1949, when they moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., where they resided until 1974. Upon Karl's retirement from the teaching ministry, they returned to Wausau. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Schofield, since their return in 1974. Hertha was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed gardening and being in the outdoors. Hertha is survived by her two sons, Robert F. (Bonnie) Peters, Crown Point, Ind., and John W. (Sandra) Peters, Valparaiso, Ind.; three grandchildren, Robert (Laura) Peters, Bridget and Hannah; one sister, Verna Schlund, Ringle; and three brothers, Lawrence Zahrt, Aniwa, Milton (Audrey) Zahrt, Wausau, and Merlin (Joan) Zahrt, Wausau. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Arlette, Velma and Zelta; and one brother, Wilbert. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Schofield. The Rev. Ray Connor will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, April 6, 2006, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau.
