Duncan, 85, died Sept. 21, 2008, at Parkway Nursing and Rehabilitative Center, Stuart. He was born in Philadelphia, Miss., and lived in Stuart for 14 years, coming from Des Plaines, Ill. During World War II, he served in the 2nd Division of the Marine Corps. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart. before retirement, he was an electrician with Peter Machinery in Chicago for over 35 years. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City. He was a member of the 2nd Marine Division Association, the Loyal Order of Moose Stuart Lodge 1282 and the Stuart/Jensen Elks Lodge 1870. Survivors include daughters, Peggy Keating of Chicago and Janice Maniscalco of Palm City; sons, Thomas Duncan of Round Lake Beach, Ill., and Daniel J. Duncan of Des Plaines. Ill.; brothers, James L. Duncan of Philadelphia, Miss., and John Duncan of Dundee, Mich.; sisters, Zita Duncan of Bristol, Conn., and Jean Theil of Pella, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moose Charities c/o Moose International, 155 S. International Drive, Mooseheart, IL 60539. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City chapel, with a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation and a Mass of Christian burial will be in Des Plaines under the direction of the Oehler Funeral Home.
