She was born May 16, 1921 in Bowler, WI daughter of the late Elmer and Marie (Marquardt) Ladwig. On May 31, 1941 she married Raymond H. Steinberg in Caroline, WI. He preceded her in death September 5, 1998. They lived in Oconto until moving to Manawa in 1958. Mae was a member of the Manawa United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the Mary Circle. She enjoyed sewing, was an excellent cook and loved fishing, traveling and playing cards. She is survived by three daughters: Sharen (Bruce) Meyerson, Mauldin, SC Joan (Gary) Zimmerman Sr., Appleton Jeane (Raymond) Tellock, Clintonville five grandchildren: Gary (Tera) Holland and children, Kaitlin and Kristin, Virginia Derek Holland, Mauldin, SC Andrew Schmidt, Appleton Denise Schmidt, Madison Scott (Bobbi) Tellock, Escanaba, MI a step- brother: Norman Erdman, Caroline nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a step-sister. The funeral service for Mae will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Manawa United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
