She was born Nov. 9, 1907, in Green Bay, to the late Frank and Clara (Hall) Jansen. Bernice attended St. Willebrord Catholic School and later graduated from Green Bay East High School, with the Class of 1925. Bernice's top priority in life was her family. She was always active with the family and was always interested in their accomplishments. Bernice was especially close to her great-grandchildren. Bowling was the second love of her life. She was a bowling league member for 52 years. Bernice was involved in the Green Bay Women's Bowling Association where she served as Director, President and City Secretary. She was inducted into the Green Bay Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1991. Bernice was also active with the Wisconsin Women's Bowling Association and served as President and Vice-President of the Association. She was a charter member of the Green Bay Jr. Bowling Association and served as the association's president and vice president. Bernice was also involved in arranging many tournament tours for the GBWBA. She enjoyed the Junior Tournaments and often overextended herself to help the Junior Bowlers. Aside from bowling and her family, Bernice enjoyed traveling extensively, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, sewing and playing cards. She was also an avid Packers fan and worked for the Green Bay Packers during the era of Curly Lambeau and Gene Ronzani. Bernice owned and operated The Curtain and Drapery Shop on Main Street for many years before retiring in 1962. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Breuninger, Green Bay three grandchildren and their spouses, Pamela and Dennis Rogge, Bowler, Wis. Francis J. and Kay Breuninger, Appleton, Wis., Jody and Mark O'Brien, Aurora, Colo. nine great-grandchildren, Chris, Brian, Jeremy, Kurt and J.J. Rogge, Andrea and Benjamin Breuninger, Kelly and Erik O'Brien five great-great-grandchildren, Chris Jr., Rebecca, Casey, Jessica and Peyton Rogge a sister, Mrs. Frank (Luella) Van Ess, Green Bay. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, J. Clive Breuninger and Henry Breuninger III a brother, Francis Jansen and two sisters, Catherine Francken and Isabel Collard. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Ken DeGroot O.Praem officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
