Walter A. Jesse, 90, of 237 S. Andrews St., Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at his home. he was born in the town of Pella, Shawano County, on Oct. 16, 1908, son of the late Herman and Louise (Braun) Jesse. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater of operations in artillery and as a sergeant in the quartermaster corps. Mr. Jesse had been employed at the FWD of Clintonville, JC Penney and for 28 years at the Chaimson Store in Shawano, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Shawano American Legion Post #117. member of St. James Lutheran Church and previously served as a member of the finance committee. Survivors include special nieces and nephews that he thought of as his "Kids," Mary (Steve) Fellman, Shawano; Carol (Russ) Hudson, Bonduel; Dean Gueller, Green Valley; Dale Gueller, Gillett; Leo Packard, Union Grove; several great nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Jesse, and sisters, Mabel Gueller and Rose Packard. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano, Pastor William Otte officiating. Interment at the Woodlawn Cemetery of Shawano. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church until time of services. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
