She passed away on September 12, 2004. She was 63 years old. She fought to the end. She is survived by her husband Terry and by her three children, Cindy Shay, Dyani and Evan Wrye. Esther had four sisters: Eva Sippel of Bonduel, WI, Amy Kauffman of South Mountain, PA, Priscilla Villarreal of San Antonio, TX and Deborah Cantu, of San Antonio, TX; and four surviving brothers: Samuel Guajardo of Lansing, IL, Adan Guajardo, of Laredo, TX, Abraham Guajardo of Laredo, TX and Elias Guajardo of San Antonio, TX. Esther's parents, Fideland Ramona Guajardo have passed away. Esther lived in Laredo for 24 years. After marrying Terry on January 18, 1964, they moved to Southern California. Seven years later, she moved to Arcata and has lived there for the last 32 years. She liked camping and traveling. She loved to take care of children. On October 2, 2004, there will be a memorial celebration for family and friends. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation.
