He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Highpoint Volunteer Fire Department and life member of Sertoma. Survivors include his wife, Esther E.; a son, Nel, Mokena, Ill.; a daughter, Donna Carney, Santa Cruz, Calif.; a sister, Viola Murphy, Chicago, and five grandchildren.
