Schlund Zelta B. Schlund, 88, of Wausau died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. She was born May 5, 1917, in the town of Easton, daughter of the late August and Bertha (Neuman) Zahrt. Zelta was a long-standing member of St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Easton, where she was involved in the Ladies Aid, Adult Fellowship, Senior Club and other numerous church activities. She loved gardening, flowers and birds. Zelta enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include two sons, Paul Schlund and Arlo (Audrey) Schlund, all of Wausau; three grandchildren, Benjamin (Laura) Schlund, Michael Schlund and Sara (Brian) Seehafer; three great-grandchildren, David, Mary and Lucas Seehafer; three brothers, Lawrence Zahrt of Aniwa, and Milton (Audrey) Zahrt and Merlin (Joan) Zahrt, all of Wausau; two sisters, Hertha Peters of Wausau and Verna Schlund of Ringle; several special friends, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry, in 1985; brother, Wilbert Zahrt; and two sisters, Velma Runzheimer and Arlett Zahrt. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at St. John's Lutheran Church, E10723 Highway Z, Wausau. The Rev. Mark J. Lewis will officiate. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 22, 2005, at Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church. A special thank you to the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center for the care provided to Zelta.
