Kanz Harriet H. Kanz, age 89, formerly of Oostburg, died on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at Morningside Nursing Home. She was born in Sheboygan on June 2, 1916, a daughter of the late Ernst and Emma Guell Barteck. Harriet attended local schools in Sheboygan. On May 2, 1936, Harriet was united in marriage to Alden Kanz at Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death in September, 2002. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed reading, singing, and spending time with her family. Harriet was a very loving mother to all of their children. Harriet is survived by her sons, Darwin (Elvira) Kanz of Kiel, John (Carol) Kanz of Crivitz, Dennis (Nedra) Kanz of Sheboygan, Kenneth (Ruth) Kanz of Hingham and Harold Kanz of Clintonville daughters, Barbara (Gary) Genske of She-boygan and Cheryl (Paul) Stranberg of Austintown, Ohio 27 grandchildren 37 great-grandchildren three great-great- grandchildren brother, Maynard Barteck of Arizona sister, Delores Huber of Sheboygan and a son-in-law, Jack Kohls of Waldo. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harriet was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Kohls, one brother and four sisters. Funeral services for Harriet will be take place on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Fountain Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerome Huber officiating. Family and friends may call at the church, 828 Erie Ave., on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. Burial will take place at Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Bonduel, WI. Harriet's family would like to thank the staff at Morningside Nursing Home for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Harriet's name.
