Cordell M. Barker, 91, Appleton, formerly of Hortonville, passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008. Cordell was born on June 29, 1917, in Briarton, daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Meier) Ebert. On March 30, 1940, she was united in marriage to Floyd F. Barker in Clintonville. He preceded her in death in 1991. Cordell was a custodian in the Hortonville School District until her retirement. She is survived by two daughters, Pat Klister, Luxemburg; Kathy (Dave) Hopp, Appleton; three sons, Chuck (Dori), Green Bay; Don (Sandy), Peshtigo; and Joe (Marie), New London; and a brother, Lawrence (Ruth) Ebert, Eau Claire. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren; a special niece, Mary Ruth (Chris) Hoff; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, four sisters and four brothers preceded Cordell in death. Funeral service for Cordell will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville; Hospice Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara will be officiating. Burial will be in the SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hortonville. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Family will greet friends following the service at a luncheon.
