Lee Loved going to work at BARC in his younger years he worked with the pallet crew, tied hammocks, packed toilet paper, worked on waxed paper, worked on recycling books and calendars, did stickers and capsuling. BARC was his extended family; they will all surly miss him. He loved all of his nieces and nephews. When we would go to Six Flags Great America, they were all stepping up to take him on his favorite ride "The Batman" his favorite, but any ride was just as good for him! Lee was always protecting anyone who asked him for help. When Keli or Deleana would be pretend fighting and they would ask for his help he would go and help. He would do anything for Nancy and often would say, "I'm going to marry her!" but than would say, "Just kidding "She's married" and laugh. Big John as we referred to him was a great friend to Lee! And wo! uld write to him often, John had the biggest heart, even though Lee didn't write back, the letters and postcards kept coming. Lee had the liberty of doing the things he enjoyed most whether it was traveling to places like Las Vegas and Hawaii or going to the casino pulling the one-arm bandits. There was so much in life to put a smile on his face including watching his favorite TV shows like Star Trek, Bonanza, I Dream of Genie, and Gilligan's Island. And if it was Elvis Presley, Lee had to have it, because he was the King. Behind that Childish smile was so much more; a kind, gentle, loving man limited only by his imagination and he usually used that imagination to make others smile. He loved to play practical jokes. "Look its superman!" he would exclaim, infecting you with his laughter. He was always thinking about everybody else and wanted to be sure we were OK." He was devoted to his family and friends and he loved life. He loved us as much as we loved him "He made an impression on everyone who knew him. The fact that he had Down syndrome should really teach people that whether somebody has a dis! ability or not . . . that a person is a person first, and a unique individual," "I think Lee taught a lot of people a lot of things, not just about Down syndrome, but how to live your life - with passion, emotion and love . . .
