(Bagan) Golz Helen B. (Bagan) Golz, 83, a Naperville resident since 1989, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at home. She was born April 10, 1917, in Chicago. She grew up on Chicago's southwest side. She worked for Western Electric in Cicero and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She lived in Westmont and Gresham, Wis., before coming to Naperville. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church in Naperville. She enjoyed quilting and being with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Janice (husband James) Sommer of Overland Park, Kan., Cindy (husband Ron) O'Connor of Naperville and Patricia (husband Patrick) Barry of Naperville; a stepdaughter, Darlene (husband Edward) Pierce of Marengo; five grandchildren, Christine Sommer of Washington, D.C., Michael Sommer of Overland Park, Kim (husband Mark) Schmidt of Yorkville, Jennie Vickers of Rogers, Minn., and Tim Barry of Naperville; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Maddie Schmidt of Yorkville and Genna Vickers of Rogers; eight step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lottie Artz and Ann Marek, both of Bolingbrook, and Jean (husband Ray) Dubina of Downers Grove; a brother, Larry (wife Rosemary) Bagan of Batavia; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 1988; her parents, Michael and Rose Bagan; a stepdaughter, Doris Storey; and two brothers, Iggy and Eddie Bagan. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, and proceed to an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at SS Peter and Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Interment will take place at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery in Naperville. Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas Hospice, 7 Salt Creek Lane, Hinsdale, IL 60521.
