Cerylla was born on Dec. 30, 1918, in Pulaski, Wis., to Jacob (JaJa) and Victoria (Busia) Styczynski. In 1939, she met Ray Reis when they were both asked to join a band a mutual friend was organizing. This began a life-long love affair with both music and Ray. In November 1939, Cerylla and Ray were married and in 1946 they moved to a farm on East Pearl St., on the outskirts of Seymour, where she lived the rest of her life. Cerylla, Ray and their band toured Northeast Wisconsin for nearly three decades as the Ray Reis Orchestra, playing for weddings, dance clubs and other social engagements. Ray always introduced Cerylla as "My Lovely Lady." On Mother's Day, 1978, Ray died suddenly while playing a dance in Green Valley. Cerylla was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew, Alex and Raymond. She is survived by her loving sister, Martha Blohowiak (James), brother, Robert Styczynski (Shirley); children, Daniel Reis, Marlene Genske, Michael Reis (Peg) and Sandra Deadman (Bruce); grandchildren, Jane McSweeny (Chris), Tim Genske (Sylvia Ferron Yalka), Sara Payne (Ronnie), Tina De Leon, Anne Reis (Owen Boyle) and Kate Reis (Brian Guy); great-grandson, Stevie Ray Genske; numerous nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren, Foster and Stephen Deadman; special friend, Grace Helms; and many other good friends who provided care and comfort. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main, Seymour. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m., Rev. Dr. Stephen A. Shive officiating Burial at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Many thanks to the staff at Country Terrace for their kind and compassionate care of Cerylla in her last weeks and to Daniel, her son, for his loving caregiving. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit the Wisconsin Parkinson Association. Cerylla loved her family and the special times spent together with children and grandchildren. It was not uncommon for her to play an impromptu polka on the piano at family gatherings. Cerylla lived a long and wonderful life and brought joy to all whom she touched. As she often said, "Smile- Be Happy!" Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
