He was born July 13, 1917, in the town of Wausau to the late Herman and Helena (Weisbach) Hahn. On June 28, 1947, Bill married Elaine Shivek at First Methodist Church, Wausau. For many years, they operated a dairy farm in the town of Wausau. Later, Bill worked in the maintenance department at Riverview School until retiring in 1985. Bill was an avid reader. He also loved being outdoors, especially working in his garden and making wood for winter. Survivors include his wife, Elaine, of the town of Wausau; four sons, Jerome (Janet) of Deerbrook, Greg (Shirley) of Aniwa, Russell of Wausau and Jay (Dawn) of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Joann, Shawn, Rachel, Stephanie and Dustin; three stepgrandchildren, Lisa (Kevin) Borth, Shyanne (Scott) Borchardt and Shannon Kasper; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Adeline Hahn of the town of Easton. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Delores Bartelt, Viola Hahn and Margaret Schroeder; and four brothers, Elmer, Gerald, Walter and Herbert. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Wausau. The Rev. Jamie Brei will officiate. Interment will be in Mechanics Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the church.
