This was the version of his name he used here in the United States. He was christened as Wilhelm Christian Friedrich KOESTER. The church record gives his birthdate as 30 April 1854 at Silz, Mecklenberg-Schwerin, Germany and the christening date as 25 May 1854 at Alt Schwerin, Mecklenberg-Schwerin, Germany. His parents also came to America and lived at Clintonville, Wisconsin and are most likely buried in the Graceland Cemetery.
