Gladys M. Prahl, age 89, of Clintonville, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the New London Family Medical Center. Gladys was born on May 24, 1920, in Split Rock, WI, the middle child of the late Emil and Phyllis Rose (Nero) Seefeldt. She was baptized on July 4, 1920, confirmed in October of 1934, both at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock; the church of which her father helped build. Gladys lived in Colorado Springs, CO, a few years where she was a sales person for the Woolworth Company. She returned to Clintonville, where she worked at Schultz Brothers over six years. On November 14, 1942, Gladys married Edward Prahl at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The couple owned and operated Prahl Radio & TV in Clintonville for over 50 years. Mr. Prahl preceded his wife in death on May 12, 1999, after 56 years of marriage. Gladys was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. She served 36 years as ballot clerk for the Clintonville Election Board. She dearly loved her family, her home and yard, flowers and birds. Gladys crocheted countless afghans and doilies and knitted many socks for her family and friends. She also enjoyed collecting dolls, china, glass ware and angels. She touched many lives with her kindness, humor and positive outlook on life. Survivors include her precious son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Donna Mae Prahl, Little Chute; her brother: Howard (Deloris) Seefeldt, Tigerton; her sisters-in-law: Evelyn Seefeldt Trammer, Magnolia, CA; Carol Seefeldt, Colorado Springs, CO; her brother-in-law, Wallace (Juanita) Prahl, Neenah; a special niece, Dawn Kersten, Tigerton; special cousins: Mary Ann Bazile, Neenah; Cathy Flowers, Brooklyn Park, MN; several special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; three brothers: Harold, Lester and Harvey Seefeldt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a very special nephew, Danny Seefeldt. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Daniel Burns officiating. Interment will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Split Rock, WI. Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church until the time of the service.
