Schroeder Karl H. Schroeder, 72, Pulcifer, died suddenly Monday afternoon, March 29, 1999. He was born June 12, 1926, in the Town of Morgan, to Henry and Olga (Marcheske) Schroeder. He was baptized on June 29, 1926, at St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan. As a young boy his family moved to the Town of Underhill and on July 28, 1940, Karl was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Gillett. On July 21, 1954, he married Ruth Holtz at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple lived in the Town of Green Valley for most of their married life where they owned and operated a farm. They retired to Pulcifer in 1992. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Karl enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, raising rabbits and continued his interest in farming. Survivors are his wife, Ruth; his children, Frank and Cheryl Schroeder, Cecil; Judy and Jay Scherbarth, David and Mary Schroeder, Robert and Ann Schroeder, all of Gillett; nine grandchildren, Keith, Kevin and Kurt Schroeder, Melissa, Timothy and Michelle Scherbarth, Tyler, Rebecca and Lindsey Schroeder; three brothers, Wilfred (Eleonora) Schroeder, Leonard Schroeder, all of Gillett; Raymond (Doris Ann) Schroeder, Bonduel; two sisters, Doris (Donald) Herms, Marion; Ruth (Lester) Leorhke, Oakfield; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; his dog, Punky; and cat, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Karl ``Butch'' Schroeder, in 1996; one brother, Richard; and an infant sister. Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls after 4 p.m. Wednesday and at Bethel Lutheran Church, Cty. BB in the Town of Green Valley after 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of services. Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Pastor Rich Block officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Karl's grandchildren whom he dearly loved will serve as his pallbearers.
