Groh Robert W. Groh, 76, of Bowler, WI, formerly of the St. Nazianz area, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Wausau Hospital. He was born June 27, 1930 in St. Nazianz, son of the late Edward & Lorena Christel Groh. Robert attended St. Gregory grade school and was a 1948 graduate of Valders High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. proudly serving his country during the Korean War. On April 16, 1955 he married Carol Kuester at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Carol preceded him in death in November 1992. In June 1997 he married Betty Gerber at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. He had previously worked at Endries Excavating & Braunel Plumbing, Manitowoc. Robert also worked at Green Bay Area Plumbers & Steam Fitters Union until his retirement due to health concerns. He also worked part-time at Stoer Dairy & Marco Manor. Robert was a former member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz and was a member of the AM-Vets, Post 99, Manitowoc. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and woodworking. Survivors include his wife Betty of Bowler, his children: Don (Lou Ann) Groh, Two Rivers, Sue Groh & special friend, Joey Golden, Manitowoc, Cathy Baumann, Milwaukee, Nancy Lausted, Lee Gerber, Dan Gerber, Rick Gerber, Sharon (Terence) Ow and Christine (Patrick) Phelps. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Michelle DeWitt and special friend Tommy VanSelow, Mike DeWitt and fiancé, Bobbi Van den Hoy, Shawn DeWitt, Sgt. Joshua (Theresa) DeWitt, Chad DeWitt, Ryan Groh and special friend, Hanna, Jovan Golden, Kayla Baumann, Kyle Henrickson, Ricky Gerber, Eddie Gerber, Grace Ow, one great grandchild, Kira DeWitt, one brother, Edward Jr. (Betty) Groh, New Holstein, one sister-in-law, Marie Groh, St. Nazianz, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Julie Russell and two brothers, Paul & Jerome Groh. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St. Kiel with the Rev. Wayne Bittner officiating. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial has been established for Marco Manor, Manitowoc.
