Johnson 1922-2005 William R. Johnson, 82, of North Aurora, formerly of Hernando, FL, Batavia and Aurora, went to join loved ones in Heaven on Monday, March 22, 2005. He was born August 15, 1922 in Chicago. Bill proudly served his country in the Army as an MP and a medic during W.W. II. He was united in marriage to Devon Dobbins in 1945, and later to his second wife, Edith LaVon Buckley in 1985. He was a carpenter with Local Union #916 of Geneva, IL for 50 years. Bill was one of the founding members of the AARC Antique Car Club of Aurora. He was a man of many skills, including building bicycles in his garage. He had a great love for gardening, irises in particular; but any plant or fruit tree could hold his interest. Survivors include his three children, Daniel (Linda) Johnson of South Beloit, IL, Wendy (James) Worley Meadows of North Aurora and James (Karen) Johnson of Aurora; eight grandchildren, Jerry (Amy) Johnson of Bonduel, WI, Julie (Charles) Ohman of Roscoe, IL, Nelson Worley of North Aurora, IL, Joel (Chris) Worley of DeKalb, IL, Ronald Worley of North Aurora, Heather Johnson of Bloomington, IL and Heidi and Amanda Johnson both of Aurora; eight great-grandchildren, Melissa Parsons, Rebekah Terry, Marissa and Justin Worley, Jasmine, Ellie and Claudia Johnson and Anna Scordato; two great-great-granddaughters, Xandra Dynek and Madison Rose Worley; his brothers and sisters, George Vanhoff of Batavia, IL, Kenneth (Maxine) Johnson of Inverness, FL, Paul "Johnny" (Marilyn) Erickson of Bellbrook, Ohio, Shirley Blincoe of Marquette, MI, and Jean (Steve) Carlson of Lake Mary, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl L. and Dolly (Ottinger) Johnson; his first wife, Devon Johnson; his second wife, Edith LaVon Johnson; his brother, Harold Johnson; a nephew, David Johnson; a niece, Angela Johnson; and many cousins and loved ones. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at The Daleiden Mortuary. Rev. Roy D. Frye will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N.
