He was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Oconto Falls, to Arthur and Martha (Johnson) Arneson. John grew up on the family farm in the Town of Green Valley and attended Gillett public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1956. On May 30, 1956, he eloped with his high school sweetheart, Elaine Deering to Iron Mountain, Mich. Within days following their marriage, John was off to the U. S. Army where he served for two years of active duty. John lived most of his life in Green Valley and was employed as field manager for the former Friday Canning, now Chiquita Food Processing in Gillett for 34 years. He also owned and operated a trucking business and along with his son, Brad, he still actively farmed. John attended Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Bonduel under the direction of Pastor Danny Hood. Survivors are his wife, Elaine two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brian Arneson, Oconto Falls Brad and Lynne Arneson, Cecil three grandchildren, Terri Arneson, Brooke and Seth Arneson one brother, James (Hilda) Arneson, Calabash, S.C. two sisters, Lela (Bert) Beltz, Sanibel Island, Fla. and Watertown, Wis Laura Hosfield, Fort Meyers, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents two infant siblings and two brothers-in-law, Bob Hines and Roger Hosfield. Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls, after 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of services. Funeral 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Hood officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials made be made in John's name to the donor's choice Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
