Jay W. Thompson, age 74, of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2005. He was born in Iron Mountain, MI, on April 3, 1931, to the late Jerome and Magdalena (Lena) Wolf. Jay grew up in Mattoon, WI and served his country in the U.S. Army. In 1955, he was united in marriage to Narcedes Stark and they remained friends until his death. Jay worked as a skilled machinist at various manufacturing plants in the area. Mr. Thompson will be sadly missed by his daughter: Connie (Charles) Damsheuser of Appleton his son: Mark (Michelle) Thompson of Neenah his brothers: Harold Thompson of Illinois, and Chester (Chris) Thompson of Mattoon, WI his sisters: Ihone (Ed) Johnson of Mattoon, WI, June Menting of Mattoon, WI, Martha Hayek of Milwaukee, WI, and Shirley Bongers of Mattoon, WI his grandchildren: Amanda Damsheuser, Sarah Damsheuser, and Wyatt Thompson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many others. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Jerome and Howard and his sister, Florence Thompson. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will also be on Monday, from 1 P.M. until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
