Hovey Walter "Walt" M. Hovey, 80, of Decorah, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, in Oneota Riverview Care Facility following a sudden illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, First Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Steve Jacobsen. Burial: Union Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, where a military memorial service begins at 6 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Survivors include two daughters, Julie of Bonduel, Wis., and Janet of Ridgeway; two sons, Tom and Bruce, both of Decorah; a sister, Sylvia Folsom of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; and a brother, Ted of Decorah.
