McKibben Kyle W. McKibben, age 18, of Marion, Wis. passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009 at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Aug. 8. Kyle Wayne McKibben was born Nov. 10, 1990 in Portage, Wis., to Kim and Wendy (Erickson) McKibben. In June of this year, Kyle graduated from Marion High School. He received an academic scholarship and was also recruited to play football at Lakeland College in Sheboygan. Kyle was always very athletic; he wrestled and competed in track and field in the shot put and discus. As a Marion Mustang, he received All Conference Honors in football for both offense and defense. He liked racing four wheelers and in 2004 he won the State Championship in the Wisconsin Quad MX Series. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include: his parents, his father, Kim (fianc/e Sue Miller) McKibben of Marion, and his mother, Wendy (Russ) Wheeler of Pardeeville. Kyle is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Joanne McKibben of Breckenridge, Minn., and maternal grandmother, Alice Erickson of Alexandria, Minn. There are 16 aunts and uncles, Steph (Robert) Allard of Loveland, Colo., Mike (Mona) McKibben of Dent, Minn., Jon (Kathy) McKibben of Wahpeton, N.D., Mari (Scott) Viers of Loveland, Colo., Becki (Al Lenz) Church of Alexandria, Minn., Paul (Jodi Kessler) McKibben of Wolverton, Minn., Peggy Hedtke of Plymouth, Minn., Judy (Duane) Baumgartner of Duluth, Minn., Jim (Judy) Erickson of St. Joseph, Miss., Vickie (Gordon) Thorson of Overland Park, Kan., Kathy (Randy) Beeler of Alexandria, Minn., Lisa (Mark) Whaley of Packwaukee, Wis., Harry (fianc/e Sally Merriman) Miller of Union Grove, Wis., Mike Miller of Portage, Wis., Dawnine Wheeler of Portage, and Jeannine (Doug) Price of Ypsilanti, Mic! h. He is further survived by a step brother, Chris (Fiona) Wheeler of Sanford, N.C., a step sister, Jamie Wheeler of Portage, and many other relatives and friends. Kyle is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lloyd McKibben, his maternal grandfather, Percy Erickson, and uncles, Pat McKibben, Mark and Bob Erickson. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. The Rev. Brian Crocker will officiate.
