Pubanz Elma H. Pubanz, age 94, of Clintonville, Wis., passed away Friday morning Sept. 25, 2009 at her home. Elma was born on June 28, 1915 in Bancroft, Wis. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruby (Campbell) Beggs. Elma graduated from Bancroft High School and was later united in marriage to Leonard L. Pubanz in Stevens Point, Wis. on June 28, 1936. The couple resided in Bancroft, and in 1952 moved to Shawano, Wis. and later to Clintonville in 1964. Leonard preceded his wife in death on Jan. 9, 1987. Elma was a very independent woman who loved to visit with friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed flowers and flower gardening, and loved to cook. Her family's favorites were her potato salad and apple pies. Elma was also proud that she passed her last driver's exam at the age of 94. She was a Christian woman whose memories will be cherished by her family. Survivors include: her daughter, Wilda Burdick, Wisconsin Rapids; her son, Len (Judy) Pubanz, Shawano; five grandchildren, James Burdick, Wisconsin Rapids, Barbara (Nick) Cei, Chicago, Ill., William (Carol) Burdick, Wisconsin Rapids, Dan (Jackie) Pubanz, Shawano, Tod (Korina) Pubanz, Leopolis; seven great-grandchildren, Destiny, Odessa, Casey, Nicole, Chelsea, Olivia, and Roan; two sisters-in-law, Adeline Beggs, Clintonville. Lila Handschke, Tigerton. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Elma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard Sr.; a brother, Howard Beggs; and four sisters, Eva Buelow, Merna Bowen, Flora Jackson, and Zita Beggs in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Monday Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
