Fillmore John W. Fillmore, 80, of 3100 27th Ave., died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1995, in St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Marion Christian Church, by the Rev. James Warren. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Esther; three sons, Steve and wife Jan of Knoxville, Tenn., John C. and wife Connie of Marion and Tom and wife Kathi of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Barbara Olson and husband Jim of Port Washington, Wis.; two sisters, Dorothy Millburn and husband Lew of Woodbury, Tenn., and Evelyn Nitz of Shawano, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. John was born Oct. 6, 1914, in rural Marion, to John H. and Emily Levey Fillmore. He was a lifelong resident of Linn County. He married Eunice L. Graves on Feb. 11, 1938, in Cedar Rapids. She died June 9, 1985. He married Esther Schuettpelz on Jan. 7, 1987, in Marion. John was a home builder and a member of Marion Christian Church. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marion Christian Church or American Heart Association. Vera Jean Phillips, 73, of 495 Hilltop Rd., died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1995, in Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Memorial services: 3 p.m. Friday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William Harnish. There will be no visitation.
