He was born on June 12, 1928, the son of the late Harry and Mabel (Mervyn) Boardman.Gordon graduated from Shawano High School in 1947. He married Anna Tabbert on August 20, 1955. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2007, after 52 years of marriage. Gordy was a truck driver for many years until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha, WI. He was a veteran of the Army and was in the occupation of Japan in 1948 and also the Korean War in 1950-1951 Gordon was a lifetime member of the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team.He was also a lifetime member of V. F.W. Post #2126 in Menasha WI. In his younger years he spent a lot of time playing baseball. He also accomplished his goal of 10 parachute jumps by the age of 65. He is survived by his children Susan (Dale) Pruess, Wauwatosa, Becky (Steve) Agen, Menasha, Mark (Lisa) Boardman, Neenah and Craig Boardman, Tomahawk ; ten grandchildren Kimberly (Kristopher), Corey, Kyle, Kristen (Jon), Kayla (Kevin), Brandon, Brooke, Anna, Andy and Anthony. He is preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Jack. Funeral Services for Gordy will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009, 11 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 473 - 7th St, Menasha, with Pastor David Skarsten officiating. Family and friends will be received on Saturday at the church from 9:30 until the hour of service. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
