Jeffrey T. Schwartz, 49, Sobieski, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, moments after bagging his bear in the "Nort Woods" of Pembine with his wife and best friend, Jeannette, at his side. He was born April 10, 1960, in North Chase, Wis., to Ralph and Ione (Sievert) Schwartz. In 1978, he graduated from Pulaski High School. In 1980, he graduated from NWTI with an Associate Degree in Automotive Mechanics. On July 24, 1981, he married Jeannette Athey. Jeff loved making maple syrup with this father and brothers, a family tradition for nearly 100 years at "IRS Acres" in North Chase, Wis. Jeff had been employed at Van Boxtel Ford for 18 years and was presently working as a self employed MATCO Tools distributor for the Brown, Oconto and Marinette Counties Region. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jeannette; two daughters, Melissa (Brett) Schwartz, Cassie (Javier) Schwartz, both of Green Bay; two grandsons, Nikolas and Mario. He is further survived by his mom, Ione Schwartz, Pulaski; a sister and brother-in-law, Jannette (Dale) Humecki, Pulaski; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary (Pam) Schwartz, Shiocton; Dennis (Linda) Schwartz, Krakow; David (Diane) Schwartz, Green Bay; Kevin (Lanette) Schwartz, Sobieski; two brothers-in-law: John (Rhonda) Athey, Jerold (Sue) Athey, a sister-in-law, Joanne Athey, their families, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; his maternal grandparents, Adolph and Laurena Sievert; his paternal grandparents, Leo and Margaret Schwartz; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and Norbert Athey; and a brother-in-law, Joe Myrick. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Kasperek officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
