Matt was born on Sept. 6, 1988 and graduated from Bonduel High School in 2006. Matt was a wonderful young man who loved to hunt and fish and who always put his family and loved ones first. Matt was a loving uncle to his niece Asia Rae and step-niece Olivia. Matt is survived by: his mother, Marjorie (Nathan) n/e Wetzel Teller of Shawano; his father, Thomas (special friend, Andrea Pingel) Alf, Sr. of Winneconne; a brother, Thomas (Tara) Alf Jr. of Shawano; his nieces Asia and Olivia of Shawano; stepbrothers, Zachary and Bryer of Winneconne and Damon and Stacy Teller of Lena; stepsisters, Tennille and Charles Richardson of Green Bay, Tanya Teller of Shawano; grandparents, Patricia Wetzel of Kaukauna, Royal and Norma Alf of New London; his aunts and uncles, Susie Wetzel, Kaukauna, Michael and Mona Wetzel, Tomah, Barbara and Troy Laastch, Marion, John and Jan Wetzel, Menasha, Joyce and Dale Pethke, Manawa, Peggy and Randall Chapin, Cecil, Julie and Rick Rauterkus, Clintonville, Tim and Chris Wetzel, Kaukauna, Bill Stiles, Hortonville, Tony Alf, Weyauwega, Todd Alf and friend Lyn, New London, Nancy Buelow, Oshkosh; step aunts and uncles Nick and Kathy Teller, Keshena, Verna and Tom DeLeon, Suring, Pamela Wapekeney, Keshena, Penelope ! Matt was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Eugene Wetzel; great-grandparents, Agnes and Ervin Kort, Herbert and Ellen Wetzel and Herman and Mary Alf; great-uncle Herbert Wetzel Jr.; great-aunts Florence (Wetzel) Van Nuland, Augusta Wetzel and Phyllis Thies, and Joyce Meyer; aunts Jeannie (Wetzel) Stiles and Patti Wetzel; uncle Quentin Bartels; his cousins, Joseph and Robert Bartels, Ryan Pethke, Trisha Britzke, and Keelyn Schachtschneider. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Deacon Don Wetzel officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. and on Monday after 9 a.m. until the time of service. God has the only blueprint to His plan and one day we will know what that plan is.
