Kenneth P. De Ruyter, 59, N7885 Cty Y, Seymour, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 16, 2000, at University of Pittsburg Presbyterian Medical Center due to complications of a lung transplant. He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Green Bay, son of the late Robert and Leona (Pennenberg) De Ruyter. On May 14, 1966, he was united in marriage to Mary Luedke at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar. Ken was employed until 1998 at Accurate Machine Co. when he took disability retirement. Prior to this he worked with Gidding and Lewis for 25 years. He also farmed for 25 years. He loved time spent with his grandchildren, his Fergussen 40 tractor, camping with friends and family, lawn and gardening, cribbage, the Porterfield Country Music Festivals and watching Packer games with Dean. He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar. He is survived by his wife, Mary his children, Wendy (Glen) Schmit, Seymour Sue (Chris) Clark, Green Bay Allan De Ruyter, Navarino grandchildren, Nicholas, Carley and Hannah Schmit, Morgan and Madyson Clark his special dog, Harley brothers and sisters, Bonnie Laskowski, Doris (Gary) Kropp, Beverly (Milton) Krause, Richard (Sherry) De Ruyter, all of Seymour Daniel and Ronald (Janelle) De Ruyter, Green Bay sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marlene (Norbert) Matuszak and Doris (Robert) Willis, Seymour many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents a sister, Joy Danforth and brother-in-law, Ronald Laskowski. Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:30 p.m. and Monday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar, from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Fr. David Ashbeck officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. To my husband, our father, grandfather, brother and friend, You did your best, being sick for so many years. People learned what courage and determination meant from you. You were a wonderful husband, a loving father and grandfather. Your grandchildren were the best medicine for you.
