Adolph A. Leitzke, age 85, of Shawano, received the crown of Eternal Life on Dec. 30, 2000. He was born Dec. 21, 1915, in Bonduel to the late Emil and Hattie (Wackerfuss) Leitzke. He married Carol Reichel Jan. 13, 1955. She preceded him in death Aug. 11, 1987. Adolph was a life-long farmer. He farmed in the Town of Hartland for thirty years. In the 1950's he also co-owned Shawano County Roller Rink and he worked at Hotz's Mfg. in the early 1960's. While in good health, Adolph enjoyed bowling and rollerskating. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Bonduel, and Zion Young Adult Fellowship. Survivors include two daughters, Heidi Boettcher of New Berlin and Charwyn (John) Dunlap of Green Bay two sons, Tim Leitzke of Green Bay and Steve Leitzke of Appleton step-son, Mike (Sandy) Groth of Shawano eight grandchildren: Timothy Jr., Christy, Tara, Andrew, Adam, Elizabeth, Alissa and Landon also one sister, Dorothy Otte of Appleton. He was preceded in death by three children, Anthony, Andrew and Luen and two brothers and a sister, Larry Leitzke, Hazel Broehm an infant, Walter Leitzke. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 3, 2001 at Zion United Methodist Church, Bonduel, with Rev. Cynthia L. Kristopeit officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bertha was born May 25, 1908, in the town of Easton to the late William and Louise (Neuendank) Barden. She married Harry Kole on June 29, 1929, in the town of Easton. Harry preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1971. Bertha and her husband farmed for many years in the town of Easton. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and baking for her neighbor. Bertha is survived by her daughter, Elaine (John) Polley of Aniwa; grandson, Kim (Mickey) Polley, Marion, Iowa; three stepgrandchildren, Christina, Tiffany and Danielle Clark, all of Arizona; three stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Cherek, Brokaw, Helen Barden, Ringle, and Katherine Nutter, Minocqua; and one sister-in-law, Luella Barden, Wausau. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Novak; two brothers, Ross and Edgar Barden; and two sisters, Irene Klinkenbloomer and Sadie Burgoyne. She was born June 10, 1918, in the town of Halsey, daughter of the late Henry and Elsie (Becker) Adams. On July 3, 1937, she married Henry F. Becker at Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens. He preceded her in death April 5, 1983. Lena and her husband farmed in the town of Halsey until retiring in 1973. She enjoyed baking and word search puzzles, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. GUNDLACH FENNIMORE, Wis. - Millard H. "Mick" Gundlach, 83, of Fennimore, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Jan. 21, 2001, at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Center, with his family at his side. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Fennimore. Burial will be in Rock Church Cemetery, Livingston, where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Soman-Larson Funeral Home, Montfort, where there will be a Masonic service at 8 p.m. A lifelong resident of Grant County, he was born on June 16, 1917, just outside of Livingston, son of Philip and Marietta Gundlach. He grew up on a farm with seven brothers and sisters, and he developed a strong interest in agriculture. This early- discovered fascination led to a long adult career as a teacher and a national leader in agriculture education. Mick began his adult life by attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he earned a teaching degree. While at the university, he met the love of his life, and wife of 61 years, Wilma Lorraine Rubin. They married in August 1939. Mick and Wilma lived most of their lives in Montfort. He spent much of 1945 and 1946 serving our country in the Army. Though Mick spent a couple of years as an educator in Laona and Bonduel, in northern Wisconsin, the majority of his career was concentrated in Grant County. Mick taught for 25 years at Montfort and Iowa-Grant High Schools. During the last 14 years of his career, Mick was the coordinator of the Young and Adult Farmer Program at Southwest Vocational School in Fennimore. Mick was a member and leader in many agriculture-related professional and community organizations, and most notably, served as the president of both the National Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association and the Wisconsin Association of Vocational Agriculture Instructors. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion in Montfort. He enjoyed hands-on work with students. He assisted students with livestock projects and was actively involved in judging livestock competitions. Mick always was widely respected by his students. Throughout his life, Mick was an avid fisherman. He spent many spring and summer days in search of trophy trout on local Grant County streams and made frequent ice fishing trips. Mick also enjoyed woodworking, sporting events and card games. Surviving are his wife, Wilma; five children, Robert (Sandy), of Columbia, S.C., Larry (Kathryn), of Madison, Betty (Carlton) Austin, of Fennimore, Rosemary (David) Sackett, of Menominee Falls, and David, of Montfort; a sister, Kathryn Hunt; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings, Wilma Kemper, Chester Gundlach, Anita Knutson, Stanley Gundlach, Iris Biddick and Ona Gundlach. Muriel was born March 31, 1933, to the late Otto and Ethel (Jester) Kalinke, in the town of Easton. She married Delane Wincentsen on June 7, 1958, in the town of Easton. He preceded her in death in March 1985. Muriel was a long-time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Easton. She formerly served as church secretary and with the Ladies Aids. She was a member of the Edgewood Mother's Club. She loved spending time up at the family cabin in Tomahawk. Muriel loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and kept busy with them all. She enjoyed cooking and watching NASCAR. She had the opportunity to take in the Daytona 500 and Brickyard races. She also loved animals, especially her own pets. George married Elda Neitzel Oct. 28, 1939, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel. The couple farmed in the Town of Hartland until moving to Bonduel in 1995. George also worked for Dehn's Ice Cream Factory, and Equity Livestock Sales, Bonduel. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel, and he had served on St. Paul's Finance Committee and Bonduel Telephone Co. Board of Directors. George was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved telling everyone about his grandsons and especially loved having his grandsons come to the farm. He enjoyed farming and the beauty of nature. Survivors include his wife, Elda a daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Don Reinke, Oneida three grandsons Derek, Drew and Dan Reinke one sister, Helen Hansford, Green Bay and a sister-in-law, Lillian Klosterman, Bonduel nieces and nephews. Art was born April 26, 1930, to the late George and Martha Lambert. At St. Joseph Church, Green Bay, on May 2, 1953, he married his sweetheart, Donna Mae Schroeder, whom he lovingly called mummy. He farmed his entire life, raised his 12 children and was a wonderful grandpa to his 27 grandchildren. Art loved the fox hunting days with the gang and the deer hunting stories. We have all been touched and blessed having had him as a part of our lives. He will be sadly missed. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Becky Marie Teal; and sister, Louise Teal. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Bradley Funeral Home, Highway 45 N., Antigo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Antigo. His wife, Imogene, preceded him in death in 1997. Two daughters, Kathy and Sarah Jo, also preceded him in death.
