She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, White Clay Lake. On Feb. 1, 1938, she married Ewald Gehm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, White Clay Lake. He preceded her in death in April, 1997. Esther was a charter member of the Ladies Aid of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Washington. She enjoyed gardening. She is survived by son, Marvin (Carol) Gehm, Cecil two grandchildren, Steven Gehm, Cecil Bonnie (Tom) Timm, Janseville two great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Emily Timm a sister, Freida Polzin, Cecil. a brother, George Brede, Summitt Lake sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Brede, Bonduel Edna Kamke, Bonduel Lula Cieslewicz, Milwaukee numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Washington, with the Rev. David Miller officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be Saturday at St. Paul Church Cemetery. Raatz "Bill" Neenah Formerly of Menasha, born on February 25, 1920, in the Township of Lessor, Shawano County passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2000. He was the son of Mr. William and Mrs. Augusta (Bohm) Raatz, Bonduel. On May 31, 1941, he married Florence Sperberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Sperberg, in the Town of Richmond, Shawano County. Florence passed away January 28, 1999, after 57 years of marriage. They spent 20 winters in Mission, Texas, after Bill's retirement. Bill was Business Manager and Agent for Laborer's Local Union 931 Appleton for 33 years, retiring on June 30, 1979. He was a 50-year member in 1997 and received his Gold Card and Gold Watch for his service from his Laborer's Local Union 931. During his 33 years of service, he also served as President of the Appleton Building Trades Council for 17 years, and the Fox River Valley District Council of Laborers as Secretary Treasurer and Chief Negotiator for the Council with the Wisconsin Building and Road Contractors Association as chairman. He started and negotiated the Wisconsin Laborers Health Insurance Plan and the Wisconsin Laborer's Pension Fund, of which he was President and Secretary Treasurer until his retirement. Bill and Florence are charter members of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Menasha. Bill was a 32-degree Mason and a past master of John A. Bryan Lodge 98F AM, Menasha and a Elks member for 45 years. Bill enjoyed traveling to Canada, fishing, deer hunting, playing cards and talking union. His survivors are four sisters-in-law, Virginia (Gordon) Siebert, Neenah Nancy (David) Strehlow, Saukville Shirley Sperberg (and her friend, John Genske), Shawano Theresa Raatz, Sheboygan. He was a special uncle to all of his 18 nieces and nephews 28 great-nieces and nephews 21 great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence his parents a brother, Melvin a sister-in-law, Irene Lamberies, and a brother-in- law, Lawrence Sperberg. A visitation will be Sunday October 8, 2000, from 1-3 p.m. at Highland Memorial Park, Star of Hope Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton. The funeral service will immediate follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. John W. Krueger officiating. Entombment will be at Star of Hope Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. She was born in Aniwa, WI on June 7, 1912, a daughter of John and Anna Heinzel Wolf. Anna married Rudolph Hoffman on September 5, 1933. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1942. Anna moved to Oshkosh in 1923. She had been employed at Blum Associates and at Wald Wire & Manufacturing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Altar Society, Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters, and a member of a dartball league. Survivors include two daughters, Marcella (Jerry) Ryckman; and Sylvia (Ronald) Karow, both of Oshkosh; two sons, Rudy (Marlys) Hoffman, Channing, MI; and Edmund Hoffman, Oshkosh; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen with the Rev. Eric Linzmaier and Monsignor Roy Klister officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen. Parish rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation also will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Agnes Theresa Klister was born March 31, 1906, in Wrightstown, the daughter of John and Henrietta (Van de Hey) Klister. Before her marriage, she was employed in Sheboygan on the production line of a shoe factory. Later, she worked in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Claire E. Southworth on Nov. 28, 1929, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Claire died on Feb. 16, 1980. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1979 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. The young couple moved to the town of Holway and in 1944, they purchased their farm in the town of Hoard, rural Owen, and farmed until retiring in 1972. They continued to live on the home place. In September 1999, Agnes moved to Our House assisted living care in Medford and in 2001 resided at the Lighthouse Elder Care. Agnes was a homemaker but always found time to reach out to others. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women and St. Mary's Circle. She enjoyed her membership with the Owen Senior Citizens and serving lunches. Agnes served time with the town of Hoard Election Board and was an avid card player. She was a member of the Farmer's Union and Happy Homemakers. Agnes will be dearly missed by her children, Donald (Annette) Southworth of Wausau, George (Elaine) Southworth of Medford, Charlotte Bolz of Withee, Bernice (William) Guerten of Madison, Mary Hessefort of Oshkosh, John (Betty) Southworth of Stratford, James (Janice) Southworth of Palestine, Texas, Dennis (Nancy) Southworth of Weston and Daniel (Marge) Southworth of Aniwa; one brother, Cyril (Martha) Klister of Kaukauna; one sister, Helen (Lyle) Lamers of De Pere; a sister-in-law, Catherine Klister; 33 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Violet was born April 8, 1919 in the Town of Hartland, Shawano County, Wis. a daughter of the late Frederick and Clara (Busch) Lemberg. On May 30, 1936 she was united in marriage to Alfred H. Luepke in Bonduel. Following their marriage the couple lived and farmed in the Town of Hartland for many years, retiring in 1970. Following their retirement, the couple moved to Shawano and Vi was employed as a housekeeper for over 25 years. Her Husband preceded her in death on July 9, 1984. She is a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bonduel and is currently a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Vi was very active in Church affairs at St. James including serving with the Ladies Aid, she was a greeter, a Quilter and also helped with the hot lunch program. She also worked on the Lut! heran Womens Missionary League for many years. She was also a member of AAL and 55 or Better Club. Survivors include one son, Larry (Sally) Luepke, of Bonduel four daughters, Betty (Gerald) Dehn, of Bonduel Audrey (Roger) Wood, of Pulaski Karen (Dennis) Stoltenow, of Bonduel and Lana (Steve) Reinke, of Shawano 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren one sister, Mrs. Emma Falk, of Shawano. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson one brother and two sisters. Funeral services for Violet Luepke will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Pastor William Otte will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery of Shawano. He married Lucille Schultz Sept. 27, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church, Zachow. The couple lived in Bonduel all of their married life. After retiring, Carl worked for the Village of Bonduel. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and traveling. Jacobson Nels Keith Jacobson, 18, town of Elderon, was killed Friday evening, June 10, 2005, from injuries sustained when the automobile he was riding in was hit by a drunken driver. He was born Jan. 8, 1987, in Shawano, the son of Glenn and Karen (Frederick) Jacobson, town of Elderon. Nels was a 2005 graduate of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School, where he was an honor student. He also was an Eagle Scout and was an avid hunter and fisherman, skier, wrestler and football player. Nels also was a candidate for the Air Force Officers' Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. In addition to his parents, Glenn and Karen Jacobson, Nels is survived by three brothers, Nathan and Jared Jacobson, Van Nuys, Calif., and Matthew Jacobson, Essex Junction, Vt.; one sister, Leah Jacobson, Aniwa; his grandmother, Evelyn Jacobson; many aunts, uncles and cousins and a very special friend, Wendy Stroik. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eldo and Evelyn Frederick and Carl Jacobson; and an uncle, Kevin Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. The Rev. Erik Olson will officiate.
