Schultz Reuben C. Schultz, age 85, Bowler, died Tuesday, July 07, 2009 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Antigo. He was born on Oct. 8, 1923 in Lyndhurst, Wis., the son of the late Walter and Erna (Schmidt) Schultz. On Oct. 23, 1948 he was united in marriage to Doris Gustafson in Bowler. She survives. Reuben graduated from Bowler High School in 1941 and then served in the U.S. Army. He then worked in Milwaukee as a Machine Operator and Cement Finisher. After retirement, Reuben and Doris moved back to Bowler in 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family. Survivors include his wife, Doris; three children, Ricky (Jennifer W. Eggers) Schultz, Cleveland, Wis., Joanne (Mark) Nordstrum, Richfield, Wis., and Kevin (Carine) Schultz, Waukesha; four grandchildren, Erik Nordstrum, Michael Nordstrum, David Schultz and Matthew Schultz; one step-granddaughter, Caleigh Wilson; one step-great-granddaughter, Emma Bee Wilson; two brothers, Clarence (Lois) Schultz, Mattoon and Walter (Bernette) Schultz, Bowler and one sister-in-law, Cora Schultz, Gillett. Maroszek, 83, Hofa Park, died peacefully and then danced her way to heaven on Monday, July 6, 2009. The daughter of the late Valentine and Stella (Wozniak) Majewski was born on Sept. 25, 1925 in the town of Maple Grove, where she was a lifelong resident. On May 25, 1946 she married John Maroszek in Hofa Park. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage and 14 children. Clara was well-known for baking her special chiffon birthday cakes and always made your birthday special when she asked you what flavor of cake you wanted. You could always find Clara on the dance floor. She loved to polka dance, especially when her children and grandchildren were performing. Clara was an excellent cook and cooked for many years for St. Stanislaus Parish for weddings, picnics and funerals. She was proud of all her family and nourished them not only with food but with love and kindness. She was proud of her strong Catholic faith and taught us all by example the true meaning of Christian service to our Lord. She was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Parish, Hofa Park, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. Clara enjoyed playing cards, quilting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially attending all their concerts and sporting events. We will all miss her big, warm smile, her contagious laugh, and her never-ending energy for life. He attended Shawano area schools and was a 1972 graduate of Shawano High School. Bob was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Marion and enjoyed attending Sunday gatherings after church services. Bob was also a member of The Pella Eagles 4-H Club and was the Sports Fishing Leader. He belonged to Challenge The Outdoors (CTO) and We Are People (WAP). Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, especially Fishing Has No Boundaries in Hayward. Bob liked spending time at the casino and going out to eat. On April 21, 1956, he married Jean Amanda Hill in Waukegan. Mr. Sample first worked for Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago in the sample room. He then worked for American Motors in Kenosha, Wis., Massey Ferguson in Algoma and Kaukauna, Wis., and Superior Manufacturing in Mattoon, Wis. In 1980, he became transportation coordinator for Heatilator/Hon Industries in Mount Pleasant. Following retirement, he worked part-time for Goodyear Industries and Pleasant Outlook, both in Mount Pleasant, and also worked for both Weir Funeral Home and Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. He was a 1952 graduate of Hughes High School in Cincinnati. He was a veteran, serving a total of 30 years in the Army, Army Reserves and National Guard. He retired at the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, where he had served as an usher. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Lodge No. 8 AF & AM and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Waukegan. He was the current commander of AMVETS Post No. 44 in Mount Pleasant, the vice commander of Henry County Veterans Honor Guard and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2561 in Mount Pleasant. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gary of Indianola, Brian of West Des Moines, Robert of Homestead and Michael "Mickey" of Magnolia, Texas; one daughter, Nancy Edgington of Hamden, Conn.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin Sample and Jerry Sample, both of Lousiville, Ky., and William Sample of Lake Bluff, Ill. Manutronics then employed her until she retired in 1989. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening. She was a Past Matron-Order of Eastern Star, Kenosha Chapter 92. Discher Carol G. Discher, 80, of Oshkosh died Friday, December 23, 2005 at her home. Born December 20, 1925 a daughter of Edward and Nellie (Ringstad) Kaufman in Mattoon, WI. On August 3, 1946 she married Melvin W. Discher in Oshkosh. Carol was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who lived for her family. She never missed a ball game, a birthday party, a wedding, or a concert. She was always fun to be around and had a zest for life. You always knew where she stood on an issue. She was so proud of her family. Melvin and Carol celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this past August. This week her whole family gathered to celebrate her 80th birthday. Carol is survived by her husband Melvin of Oshkosh; son Bruce M. (Dawn) Discher of Oshkosh; daughters Kristi C. (Harold) Timmerman of Poy Sippi, Barbara J. (Donald) Metoxen of Princeton; grandchildren Carrie (Donald) Steiner, Melissa (Mark) Edinger, Rebecca (Stephen) Nankervis, Matthew Metoxen, Marc Metoxen, John Discher, Anna Discher, and Jill Discher; great grandchildren Rachel Steiner, Lindsey Steiner, Emily Edinger, and Ava Nankervis. She is also survived by brothers Mervil (Minnie) Kaufman of Eland, Roger Kaufman of Fond du Lac, and Peter Kaufman of Antigo; sisters Nadine Kohls of Eland, Marjorie Wolff of Eland, and Phyllis (Gary) Meidl of Columbus, OH; brother-in-law Gilbert Discher of Oshkosh; sister-in-law Angeline Discher of Birnamwood; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Carol is preceded in death by sisters Merna Carlson and Patricia Carlson; brothers-in-law Kenneth Discher, Harold Discher, and Clarence Discher; sisters-in-law Leona Discher, Gertrude Discher, a! nd Anita Salzsieder. Funeral service for Carol will be Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Noon at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Milton Staskal officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- West and also on Wednesday at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Paul and Leona raised two sons, Paul and Philip, and provided a loving and comforting home to many foster children. They also spent many years living in San Mateo, CA where Paul worked for Buster Brown Textiles as a warehouse supervisor. They also resided for some time in Poulsbo, WA finally settling in Port Orchard. Paul and Leona spent the last few years visiting with friends and family along with enjoying the beauty of our country while traveling in their motor home. Paul is survived by his wife, Leona of Port Orchard; sons, Paul S. He began his career in education with a teaching position in Mattoon, WI, where he met the love of his life, Marie, to whom he was married for 49 years. In 1962, Roger and Marie moved their young family to South Milwaukee, where he retired as! Superintendent of the school district in 1985. He spent his retirement years traveling with Marie, painting, and being involved with his grandchildren's activities. After Marie's death in 2001, he was an active volunteer and remained an avid Packers, Brewers and Tiger Woods fan. He was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cudahy, WI, and served in various leadership positions. He will fondly be remembered by his sheepshead club, where he would often amaze his friends with his unconventional play. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Agron Ismali, M.D., and the physicians, nurses and staff of the ICU unit at Aurora St. Luke's South Shore and Select Specialty Hospital at Aurora West Allis Memorial Medical Center, for their kind and compassionate care. We also are grateful to pastors Carl Krueger, Jon Bender and Vicar Ben Kaiser for their spiritual support and helping all of us to remain focused on the prize. Born Aug. 23, 1911, in Mattoon, WI, the daughter of Frank and Rosina (Zangl) Rothbauer, Isabelle attended Ripon College and was employed by the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter. She married John Schwarz on June 22, 1946, and lived with him in Cincinnati, OH, Camden and Fond du Lac, WI. They moved to Westfield in 1960. Throughout her life, Isabelle was deeply religious and worked for her local parishes in many capacities. She was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis, the Altar Society and the National Catholic Society of Foresters, and a volunteer at Saint Anne's parish in Garwood. After her husband's death in 1977, Isabelle was employed by the Archdiocese of Newark in the church office at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains. After retiring at age 85, Isabelle lived with her daughter in Ewing before moving to Saint Mary's Residence at Morris Hall in 1997, where she continued her lifelong love of writing by writing for the Morris Hall newsletter. Isabelle also enjoyed baking, gardening, crafts and spending time with family, friends and acquaintances in Wisconsin and New Jersey. Isabelle was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Flora Rothbauer of Fond du Lac. Surviving are her daughters, Rose Mary Schwarz of Ewing and Ann Schwarz of Friday Harbor, WA, and two granddaughters, Alyssa Spiro Mierta of Allentown, PA, and Ilona Spiro of Wakefield, MA. A memorial service and Mass will be held at a future date. Burial will be at Hazel Wood Cemetery in Rahway. The family extends their appreciation to the staff and administration of Morris Hall for the care and support provided to Isabelle and her family during her 11 years there. Her death was the result of complications following a hip fracture, Dec. 8, 2007. She was 86. A resident of Scottsdale since 1971, Jeanne Marie was born in rural Waukechon, Wisconsin, the daughter of Rowland D. and Eva Jane (Devlin) Morris. She was graduated as a registered nurse in 1943 from Bellin Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Green Bay, Wisconsin. While serving during World War II as a U.S. Navy nurse, first in Corpus Christi, Texas, and later at Alameda Naval Air Station in California, she met Arthur E. Hughes, a U.S. Marine Corps fighter pilot who had flown combat missions in the South Pacific. They married in Oakland, California, in 1945, and throughout their 57 years of marriage lived in Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona. Arthur Hughes passed away in 2002. Art and Jeanne were devoted to their three children, Michael, Robert and Mary, who,! in turn, were devoted to their parents. Michael Hughes passed away in 1990. Jeannie, as she was known by nearly all of her friends, dedicated herself to the care of others, both as a hospital nurse and later as a public health nurse in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a nursing supervisor for the Maricopa County Health Department, working from 1971 until her retirement in 1985. Throughout her life she formed and kept close, loving friendships. She was a true listener, a gentle soul with a firm resolve, even-tempered and enthusiastic, a woman of deep and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Mary, of Phoenix; her son Robert (Denise), of Munger, Michigan; her sister Wanda Gustafson, of Appleton, Wisconsin; her 4 grandchildren: Jason Hughes, Matthew (Deborah) Hughes, Alison (Michael) Watt, and Joel Hughes; and her nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Messinger Indian School Mortuary, in Scottsdale. ! Funeral service will be Thursday, January 17, 10:00 a.m. at Glass & Ga rden Community Church, 8620 E. McDonald Dr., Scottsdale. The Hughes family is deeply grateful to the physicians, nurses and all others who cared with compassion and love for Jeanne Marie during the final weeks of her life on earth.
