Born June 19, 1920, in Eland, Wis., in Shawano County, the daughter of George and Florence (Owen) Thayer, she died March 7 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, N.J. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. After her marriage to Sylvester Tiesling on July 4, 1940, in Appleton, Wis., she moved to Barrington and resided there for 42 years. After the death of her husband in 1972, she moved in with her daughter, Karen, in 1982, and they moved to Fox River Grove where they lived for five years. In 1987 they moved to Denver, Colo., before moving again to Parsippany, N.J., in September of 1997. Survivors include her children, twins Joan (Danforth) Wright of Barrington and Joyce "Judy" (John) Greenwood of Palatine, and Karen Tiesling of Parsippany, N.J.; her brothers, Walter Thayer of East Wenatchee, Wash., Norman (Wanda) Thayer of Seattle, Wash., and Wilber (Evelyn) Thayer of Modesto, Calif.; her grlber (Evelyn) Thayer of Modesto, Calif.; her grandchildren, Terry and James Luebbers, Gail Davidson, Sandy and Michael and Matthew Greenwood, Bryan and Kenneth; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Raymond; her daughter, Janet Cameron; her brother, Jasper "Jack" Thayer; and her sister, Vera Krake. Friends may call at the mortuary from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday. Interment will be private. Mrs. Dent, who was born in Eland, Wis., lived in Riverside 30 years before moving to Rialto four years ago. She was a cook at Mueller's Restaurant for five years. She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Riverside. Mrs. Dent is survived by three daughters, Phyllis McFaul of Eagle River, Wis., Beverly Byer of San Diego and Sherry Christos of Rialto; a son, Gary of Riverside; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Timm Mr. Dale W. Timm, 70, a Green Bay resident, passed away Wednesday evening March 24, 1999, at his home. He was born on March 18, 1929, to the late Fred and Meta (Brumm) Timm in Eland, Wis. On July 18, 1953, Dale married the former Virginia Trimble in Madison. He was a graduate of Tomahawk High School and acquired a BA and MA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dale started his teaching career in Seymour. He then spent 32 years in the Green Bay School District as a Guidance Counselor and Administrator until his retirement in 1991. He was a charter member of Atonement Lutheran Church where he served as Financial Secretary for 35 years. He was a volunteer for American Association for Retired Persons, the Senior Center and Chairman of the Health Committee for the Wis. Retired Educators Association. Dale enjoyed golf, deer hunting, turkey hunting, gardening, wood carving, walking and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Virginia; four sons, Dale C. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Evangelical Covenant Church, 1145 C St. The Rev. Tommy Thompson will officiate. His ashes will be scattered at Gunsight Mountain. Mr. DeHusson was born June 6, 1931, in Eland, Wis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and honorably served in active duty in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. In 1962, he moved to Fairbanks, relocating to Anchorage with his family in 1966 to start a job with Anchorage Telephone Utility. He retired in 1988 from ATU and divided his time between his cabin in Eureka and Nelson, Wis. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for 35 years, the American Legion for 14 years and an active member of the Civil Air Patrol, involved in search and rescue. Mr. DeHusson's dream was to support his family as a commercial pilot, but he settled on piloting as a lifelong hobby. He received his pilot's license in 1966 and flew until approximately 1990. His family said: "Our dad loved the Alaska way of life and he took his family camping, fishing and snowmachining. He taught us how to shoot and handle firearms and taught the boys how to hunt. His passion for the outdoors was used to provide for his large family. Every fall we had a moose or caribou to feed us through that year. We regularly enjoyed fish, geese and even rabbit on occasion. He taught us how to be prepared for emergencies and how to survive. As a result our homes and vehicles are well equipped for any unseen event." He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Denise DeHusson; daughters, Renee DeHusson and Dawn Kehm; son, Gordon DeHusson; and grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony, Bryant, Rachael, Jesse and Austin. He was preceded in death by his children, Walter "Little Guy" and Shirley Doreen. Arrangements were by Witzleben Family Funeral Homes & Crematory. Named after his mother's father, Arnold Bernard Steinfeldt, who was the twin of Andrew James Steinfeldt, Lee was born to Marie Louise Steinfeldt Colson who grew up in De Pere, Wis., and Melvin Herbert Colson who grew up in Eland, Wis. Lee joined his 5 years old sister, Rose Marie, The family was completed in 1954, when little sister, Kathy Lynn was born. They lived in De Pere, till they built a new home in Green Bay in 1954. The family rented out this house when daddy reenlisted in the Army in 1957, and the family moved to the Army base, Fort Sheridan, Ill. Lee attended School in Highland Park Ill. Lee "LOVED" all of his family, Rose for going out to eat, traveling and taking him to casinos Kathy for giving him more family to love Jeff for being his wrestling buddy, TV pal and great friend, Kris, Lee's Godson for playing guitars and listening to music with him Keli for cutting his nails and putting lotion on his hands and feet Amanda for dancing with him Ric cause he was next to god and Elvis he was just "My Buddy, My Friend" he really loved Ric, and his wrestling. Lee's eyes just glowed when anyone said Ric's name Deleana was Lee's personal barber, she would hand him a soda and cut his hair, trim his beard, eyebrows, mustache, and what ever else needed to be trimmed JR was Lee's friend who gave him soda, krispie bars, Gatorade. Lee liked to sneak JR's batteries and headsets they were best of buds. Kristopher was Lee's buddy, he liked going to Lee's room to spend quality time with him watching TV. Kayla was Lee's little princess she could do no wrong, and always had kisses for Uncle Lee Linus was Lee's little buddy. He always helped grandma cook and than shared with Lee. He liked to pretend to be a puppy then Lee would pat him on the head and say "Nice puppy." Ashton was the one to crawl up on Lee's lap and watch TV Celeste was the baby. She was the twinkle in Lee's eye, he would hear her voice and they both would chuckle. His eyes just glowed when she smiled at him. Lee Loved going to work at BARC in his younger years he worked with the pallet crew, tied hammocks, packed toilet paper, worked on waxed paper, worked on recycling books and calendars, did stickers and capsuling. BARC was his extended family; they will all surly miss him. He loved all of his nieces and nephews. When we would go to Six Flags Great America, they were all stepping up to take him on his favorite ride "The Batman" his favorite, but any ride was just as good for him! Lee was always protecting anyone who asked him for help. When Keli or Deleana would be pretend fighting and they would ask for his help he would go and help. When you wanted to go swimming Lee was always up to going along. He would swim laps and sit in the hot tub. "You wise guy, yea!" "Help! Help save Me", "You blind?", "Shoes untied," "lost your pocket!" "Can you hear me now?" "Kiss Me" and "Bucky off" were a few of Lee's favorite sayings. They always brought a smile to everyone's face including Lee's. Lee Loved teasing! He would say "Your shoes untied" or "Lost your pocket" "a ZIP" as he ran his finger down your back! His love of teasing continued with name calling "bald head" & "Jeffrey Pie" and "OLD MAN" which stuck as a nickname for Lee. Lee loved to imitate "the THREE STOOGES" with lots of their silly antics. He loved Popeye and would roll up his shirtsleeve's to show his muscles were just like Popeye's, TV land was the most watched channel by Lee! He loved "I Love Lucy," "Bonanza," "Lassie," "Three's Company," "I Dream Of Jeannie, "My Favorite Martian," "The Brady Bunch," "Gunsmoke," "Leave it to Beaver," "Star Trek," "Beverly Hillbillies," "Gilligan's Island" and the list goes on... Lee Loved Hats such as Elvis, baseball, old ! man, Santa, bucket and any other type of hat you could find. He would wear them morning, noon, and night if you let him. Lee loved the outdoors Camping, oh my! He would tell you how he went when he was a little little little boy and if you asked him if he wanted to go, he would say yes and start packing! He loved giving the grandkids rides around the block in the basket of his adult three-wheeler bike, and going for walks. Some times he just wanted to go for a walk and off they would go for a walk with Uncle Lee. Lee's love of ELVIS was huge. He loved watching his movies and singing along with the "Kings" songs. Lee even would tell you, "I AM THE "KING" slicking back his hair and gyrating his hips like "ELVIS, THE KING". He loved to wear Elvis shirts and collected anything with Elvis, record albums, plates, ornaments, pictures, books, cards and watches. Lee had another love in his life, Nancy! He would do anything for Nancy and often would say, "I'm going to marry her!" but than would say, "Just kidding "She's married" and laugh. Big John as we referred to him was a great friend to Lee! And wo! uld write to him often, John had the biggest heart, even though Lee didn't write back, the letters and postcards kept coming. Lee had the liberty of doing the things he enjoyed most whether it was traveling to places like Las Vegas and Hawaii or going to the casino pulling the one-arm bandits. There was so much in life to put a smile on his face including watching his favorite TV shows like Star Trek, Bonanza, I Dream of Genie, and Gilligan's Island. And if it was Elvis Presley, Lee had to have it, because he was the King. Behind that Childish smile was so much more; a kind, gentle, loving man limited only by his imagination and he usually used that imagination to make others smile. He loved to play practical jokes. "Look its superman!" he would exclaim, infecting you with his laughter. He was always thinking about everybody else and wanted to be sure we were OK." He was devoted to his family and friends and he loved life. He loved us as much as we loved him "He made an impression on everyone who knew him. The fact that he had Down syndrome should really teach people that whether somebody has a dis! ability or not . . . that a person is a person first, and a unique individual," "I think Lee taught a lot of people a lot of things, not just about Down syndrome, but how to live your life - with passion, emotion and love . . . He taught us to be kind and caring to everyone and on behalf of our entire family we LOVE you, now bucky off so we can watch TV old man. Lee A. She was born on Sept. 25, 1919, to the late Robert C. Steebs and Carrie (Peterson) Steebs. During the early 1940s she went to Milwaukee and worked for a defense plant where she became a welder working on Spitfire Airplanes. In 1945, she met Louis Berkowitz who became her husband; he preceded her in death in 1985. She worked at the Boston Store, in the toy department for 30 years in Milwaukee, until her retirement. In 1976, the couple moved to Green Bay. Ruth was an accomplished pianist, enjoyed traveling and reading. Survivors include her brother, Robert (Alice) Steebs, Eland, Wis.; two sisters, Dorothy Collier, Hazlett, N.J.; Mildred (Douglas) Elsner, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Keta Steebs, Sturgeon Bay; one niece, 14 nephews, and 28 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her brother, Herman Steebs; and brother-in-law, Winslow Collier. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. He was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Eland, Wis., son of the late Felix and Claire (Schoenike) Konkol. Following the death of Bob's mother, Claire, his father married Rose Hoppe, and the two families became one. He graduated from Wittenberg High School in 1953. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob married Jeanette Ashenbrenner at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wittenberg on August 17, 1957. He was a typeset operator at the Denmark Press and at the Herald-Argus in La Porte, Ind. He owned and operated the Corner Inn in Maribel for 11 years. He retired from the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad after 18 years of service. Bob is a life member of the V.F.W. Post 6705, Denmark; a member of the Lakeshore Concertina Club; former member of the Maribel Sportsman Club; and a past president of the Maribel Lions Club. He was leader of the Seven Sharps Orchestra (Polka Band) and also played concertina for local events. Bob loved being outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, playing and coaching baseball. He loved being with his grandchildren: taking them fishing, teaching them baseball, and traveling to all their school and sporting events.
