Bessie was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Todd and Christian. Bessie became an RN in Milwaukee, WI, soon married Valentine in 1936 and moved together to Michigan, where they spent many wonderful years in the community of Westacres. She loved her church and community involvement, painting and traveling but what stood out most was the love and care she shared with her husband and family. She had a loving way of bringing out the best qualities in those around her. She was a guiding light and one which will shine in our hearts forever. Wyrembeck Audrey Jean Wyrembeck, age 71 of Oshkosh, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 as a result of an auto accident in Washington County, WI. On April 16, 1936 she was born in Gresham, WI, the daughter of Joseph A. and Anna (Flauger) Ready. Audrey was a homemaker most of her life, but she worked seasonally for Miles Kimball and also worked as a telephone operator. She was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing solitaire, doing yard work, watching sports and was an avid Packer, Brewers and Badgers fan, but mostly she enjoyed her loving grandchildren. On August 25, 1956 she married Edward Wyrembeck in Oshkosh. He passed away on August 28, 1997. Gib was born in Oshkosh the son of Edward and Helen (Mathe) Glaeser. Gib married Marlene Roller on October 17, 1959. Gib served his Country in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957 during the Korean War. He was aboard the Sage AM III as a damage control man-Petty Officer. Gib was an alter boy for four years at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Oshkosh, he was a member of Ohio Street Civic Association, Volunteered at Sacred Heart Picnics and also at Bethel Home. Gib was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church). Gib was a Journeyman Cabinetmaker for Robert Brand and Sons, Valley Manufacturing, which later became Valco until his retirement. Gib enjoyed trout fishing, gardening, dartball and watching the Packers. Gib is survived by his wife Marlene of Oshkosh, one daughter Paula (David) Wilkum of Oshkosh, two brothers Ronald (Delores) Glaeser of Gresham, WI and brother Thomas (Beverly) Glaeser of Oshkosh. Richter FL United States RICHTER, DR. WALTER G. December 17, 1908 - November 12, 2008. Walter G. Richter, 99, was born in New Wells, MO, on Dec. 17, 1908. Walter was baptized, schooled and confirmed into the Christian faith in Immanuel Lutheran Church. He attended a public school near his home for the 7th and 8th grades and two years of high school in Altenburg, MO. In 1927 he entered Concordia Teachers College at River Forest, IL, completing the necessary instruction to enter the teaching profession. In 1931, the year of his graduation, he was placed to teach the middle grades at the Lutheran Mohican Indian Boarding School in Gresham, WI. Here, he also met his wife, Martha Dorothea Naumann, who was serving as a deaconess at the boarding school. In 1932, he taught in the Lutheran school in Shawneetown, MO, grades 1 through 6, and also served as organist at the church. In 1934, he taught all grades from 1 through 8 and served as organist, youth leader and bus driver at Emmanuel of Rolla, MO, a newly ! organized school in the Ozarks. In 1936 he married Martha and served for 7 years as principal, organist, Sunday School superintendent and youth leader to Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Cole Camp, MO. He then moved to St. Peter, IL , and taught in a 2 room school. After 2 years he accepted a position as teacher and later principal of Luther Memorial School in Cleveland, OH where he served for 21 years. In 1966 he accepted a call to Immanuel Lutheran School in Asheville, NC, and after 5 years, retired to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In the early years of retirement, he began writing and publishing books covering school subjects and church history. After 11 years in South Florida, he and Martha moved to Lutheran Haven in Oviedo, FL, where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In July of 1994, Martha entered glory with her Lord. The next 14 years in his retirement were spent writing one book after another, two of which, Saxon Sagas and The One Room School were awarded c! ommendations and awards from the Concordia Historical Institute of St. Louis, MO. Walter authored over 50 books and was also awarded the Alumnus of the Year and honorary Dr. of Letters degree from Concordia University Chicago in 2006. During his retirement in Central Florida he also found time to volunteer in retirement centers and nursing homes sharing his gifts of writing and art with the handicapped. Walter is survived by a daughter, Margaret Landrey of Irving, TX; sons, Kenneth Richter of Portage, MI; Rev. Theodore Richter of Dothan, AL; Richard Richter of River Forest, IL; 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He was born July 29, 1930 to the late Walter and Catherine (Williams) Diener. He married Delores Kriegel on October 19, 1957 in Appleton, WI. She survives. He was a 1948 graduate of Appleton High School. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves and lived in Kimberly after marriage. He was employed at Consolidated Papers in the Appleton Division until 1982 and then transferred to the Wisconsin Rapids Mill where he worked until retirement in 1987. He spent weekends at Pelican Lake for many years and in 1988 he and Delores moved to Pelican Lake. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Outagamie Conservation Club and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters-in-law: Lila (Delmar) Schenk, Pelican Lake, WI and Marjorie (Jack) Horn, Shawano, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was born on December 31, 1900, in Wittenberg, WI son of the late Frederick and Bertha (Korth) Kriegel. Arnold grew up in Wittenberg and helped his father in blacksmithing, wagon making, lumbering and farming. He later took dairy farming courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He then moved to New York to work on a dairy farm. Arnold came back to Wisconsin to help his father farm in several areas and finally started a dairy farm outside of Appleton. He sold the farm at the beginning of WWII and worked many years at Neenah Foundry before his retirement. In his retirement years, he enjoyed fishing with friends, his sister and nephews he took care of his mother, was a great cook and baked delicious cakes for family and friends. Arnold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah. He is survived by his niece, Correne (Kraemer) Davidsmeyer and her husband, J. William his cousin, Denver Behm his great-nieces and nephews, Diann, Richard and John P. Davidsmeyer and Darcy (Ray) Morin and by his close friend, Carita Williams. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Dorothea, a brother, Ervin and a sister, Mabel Kraemer. Funeral services for Arnold will take place on Friday, August 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak St., Neenah, with the Rev. Greg Otterstatter officiating. Schwarzkopf Kriegel Sr. Caryl married Richard J. Harvot on September 3, 1955 in Oshkosh. Caryl had been employed by Wisconsin Telephone Co, SNC and Bemis Co. until her retirement. She was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Caryl enjoyed bowling with the Women's Bowling League for many years, loved crocheting many blankets and afghans. Life was a gamble that she embraced fully. Caryl was the recipient of a liver transplant and was able to return the gift of life after her passing through her organ donation. Norma was born on July 4, 1933, a real firecracker, in Shawano, daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude (Nelson) Knutson, the oldest of four girls. She was united in marriage to Ronald Knuth on May 15, 1954. Together they resided on Highway S in the Town of Ellington all of their married lives. Norma worked at the Lutheran Aid, Allis Chalmers, and the New London Hospital. Her hobbies included playing piano, bunnies, baking, spoiling her grandchildren and listening to Amy and Tony play organ and piano. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. She is survived by her two sons: Ronald "Gary" (LuAnne) Knuth, Hortonville; Doug (Linda) Knuth, New London; three sisters: Patsy (Raymond) Trudell, Ruth (Alfred) Jochman, Janet (Paul) Gennigen; also three grandchildren: Amy, Tony and Heidi; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Peterson Geraldine I. Peterson, age 79, of Oconto Falls passed away peacefully on July 19, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was born July 27, 1929 in Tigerton, Wis. to George and Alvina (Kohn) Kriegel. She married Frederick I. Peterson at Zion Lutheran Church in Tigerton on Christmas Eve, 1955. Geraldine was a faithful Christian who touched many lives. She was a lifelong servant of the Church who served in women's groups and on church councils, taught catechism, and energetically witnessed. Her faith moved her to contribute generously of her time and money to many individuals, charities, and foundations. For the past 30 years, Geraldine made many new friends through her Princess House consulting business. She saw this as another way to witness to her faith. Her tireless business sense afforded her and Fred to travel to state and national conventions and on earned vacations. At the time of her passing, Geraldine was serving another term as the State President of Wisconsin Association of Wo/Men Highway Safety Leaders (WAWHSL). All of Geraldine's years of outstanding effort on behalf of traffic safety culminated in receiving the first ever "People Who Shine 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award" from the State of Wisconsin. Geraldine loved baseball and supported her husband's High School coaching career. She was Fred's Number 1 fan and attended every High School baseball game he coached. Her enthusiastic presence in the stands couldn't be missed. She considered each player her family and even earned the respect of the umpires. She received "The Golden Diamond Award for Amateur Baseball Woman of the Year" from the United States Baseball Federation recognizing and honoring her outstanding contributions to Amateur Baseball. She was an avid "Packer Backer" and attended many games, including the historic "Ice Bowl." She is survived by her loving husband, Frederick Peterson, of Oconto Falls; her brother, Herbert (Gloria) Kriegel of Oklahoma, and a sister, Dorothy Hille of Tigerton; her six children, Sharon (Dennis) Skenandore of Green Bay, Jacquelyn (David) Walske of Lena, Douglas (Phyllis) Peterson of Lubbock, Texas, Jeffrey (Margo) Peterson of Monroe, Daniel (Barbara) Peterson of Green Bay, Jonathan Peterson of Minneapolis, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Julie (Dean) Ihlenfeldt of Appleton, Jennifer (Bradley) Bucher of Waukesha, Tony (Lisa Woods) Gerrits of Green Bay, Sarah (Robert) Radke of Eau Claire, Paul (Leigh) Walske of Clintonville, Jesse, Hilary, Timothy, Matthew, Aaron, and Patrick Peterson; five great-grandchildren, Jake and Ryan Bucher, Seth and Luke Radke, and Paige Walske. She was preceded in death by parents; three brothers, Harvey "Joe" Kriegel, Gordon Kriegel, and a younger brother who died at birth; her first husband, Bernard Roberts. Visitation will be held at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church (11005 Hwy. M, Suring, WI 54174) on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 11 a.m. until funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Pastor Kevin Scheuller officiating, with luncheon to follow. His parents also came to America and lived at Clintonville, Wisconsin and are most likely buried in the Graceland Cemetery. Fuhrmann Wallace "Wally" H. Fuhrmann, 82, of Cecil passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009. Wally was born on April 12, 1927, to the late Henry and Gertrude (Bloedorn) Fuhrmann in Manitowoc County. Wally served in the United States Navy. On June 6, 1947, he married Rose Thomas in Hilbert. Wally owned and operated a TV and antenna business in the Appleton area for 50-plus years. He was a former Lions Club member. He is survived by his wife, Rose Fuhrmann of Cecil; a daughter, Nancy (Tim) Spang, Green Bay; a son, James (Lori) Fuhrmann, Delafield; three grandchildren, Karri Glisch, Justin Spang, Jason Fuhrmann, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Norbert (Jean) Fuhrmann, Appleton. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Christopher Spang and Mike Glisch. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil with the Rev. McPherson His last days were labored, but with prayer and family blessings Roger Mekon-Saeh McPherson, Jr. began his journey to eternal peace at 12:55 p.m. on July 15, 2009. Lil'Rog battled acute leukemia for a year and a half. In the last weeks he developed bacterial meningitis that was too much for his already weakened system. Roger was a graduate of the Menominee High School and had attended the College of Menominee Nation. He enjoyed fishing, shanging, and chilling with his friends. Lil'Rog is survived by: his parents, Roger and Debra (Peters) McPherson; his brothers and sisters, Kenew'saeh, Ma-Sha-Quit, Darrin, Autumn; half-brother, Arnold; half-sister, Destiny; a special friend, Misty Curry; and several aunts and uncles. Roger's wake will be held at the Old Alfred McPherson residence, W6729 Water St., in Neopit after 4 p.m. Thursday until the procession leaves for the church on Saturday. A wake service will be held at the residence on Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting monetary contributions. A "Battlement Leukemia Fund" has been established for family designated purposes.
