She graduated from Iron Belt High School and from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, with a teaching degree. She taught elementary school in Marenisco, Mich.; Antigo, Wis.; and Elgin, Ill. She attended summer schools at the National School of Education in Evanston, Ill., and the University of Colorado at Boulder. She moved to Loveland in 1976 from Elgin. She loved golfing, reading, traveling and walking. She is survived by nephew Robert Siren and wife Judith of Gresham, Wis.; niece Barbara Neuville and husband Lee of Brussels, Wis.; six great-nephews and nieces; and many great-great-nephews and nieces. Viewing will be at the church one hour before services Friday. A requiem Eucharist will be said at 2 p.m. Friday at All Saints" Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Sathi Bunyan officiating. She was born Feb. 6, 1945, in Greenville, W.Va., the daughter of Edna Ellis Anderson of Greenville, W.Va., and the late Ray Anderson. She was a loving wife and mother. Judy enjoyed reading and loved the outdoors. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Free Will Baptist faith, was very "crafty" and loved to sing. Jr. was born on Jan. 23, 1930, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Alfred and Rose Hanson. Having retired as a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, he served in active duty in the Korean War and continued his service with the 176th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Traux Field. After receiving a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1973, he was a named partner at Arthur, Hanson, Miller, and Harms in Madison. Having retired and moved to Gresham, Dan got antsy and became the Corporate Counselor of Shawano County, from 1987 to 1990. After retiring for a second time, Dan moved to Sun City, Ariz., where he devoted time to his church. He is survived by his wife, Alverta of Sun City, Ariz.; his ex-wife, Ruth, of Madison; four children, Peter, of Wilmette, Ill.; Tom, of Broomfield, Col.; Lisa, of Estes Park, Col.; and Linda Garrow, of Long Beach, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. Dan was recently diagnosed with lung and esophagus ! cancer and had successfully undergone lung cancer removal surgery. He died of a heart attack on July 14, 2005, at age 75. She was born on September 16, 1930 in Wrightstown, Wis., the daughter of Herman and Isabel Bolton Muelemans. She married Lavern Keenan on October 1, 1947 in Nichols, Wis., and he died in 1990. Marie was a homemaker until 1974, when she became a Nursing Assistant at the Outagamie County Health Care Center up until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed her gardening and flowers, also crocheting and making quilts, and she also loved to do canning of all foods. She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Cliff) Arnoldussen of Holcombe, Wis., and Kathy (James) Williams of Redgranite, also 1 son, Michael (Linda) Keenan of Beloit, Wis., one brother, Lawrence (Nancy) Meulemans of Black Creek, Wis., also two sisters, MaryAnn Hayes of Westfield, Wis., and Cecilia Paige of Gresham, Wis., also 26 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons, John and Kenneth. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, with the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating. Eugene was born Jan. 24, 1928, on a farm near Hague, the son of John and Barbara (Welder) Welk. He attended country school. Eugene served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1951. Eugene married Eugenia Schatz on Feb. 25, 1952, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed on his parents' farm until 1985. Eugene also drove school bus for the Odessa School District. They moved into Strasburg where they have since resided. While living in Strasburg, he drove school bus and the VFW bus for Memorial Day. Eugene liked to help area farmers and also helped Mal Wynveen at Mal's Ag and Auto. He enjoyed farming and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Eugene was a member of the Odessa School Board, St. Aloysius Church Council, Strasburg Lions Club and Hague Snowmobile Club. Fr. Paul Juniet of St. Peter's Catholic Church will officiate. David was born May 9, 1926, in Gresham, Wis., to Charles and Anna Platten Ebert. David was the seventh of eight boys. Both parents preceded him in death, as did his seven brothers, Gervase, Urban, Vernon, Oliver, Charles, Rembert and Quentin. Also preceding him in death were two sisters-in-law, Bonita and Betty. He married Elaine Bennett on September 20, 1951, in Anchorage, Alaska. She survives him at the family home. In 1951, he went to Alaska, where he was a partner in Totem Truck Lines. In 1957, he sold his interest in the truck lines and the family moved back to Wisconsin. He took a position with American Can Co. as a Field Tech. Rep. in food mechanical packaging in the southern region, residing in Memphis, Tenn. After five years, he was transferred to Minnesota. Upon retiring due to medical disability in 1978, the family moved to Roswell. Other survivors include three sons, Mark Ebert and his wife, Jan, of Ramona, Calif.; Blaise Ebert, of Temecula, Calif.; and David Ebert and his wife, Linda, of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Gaila (Ebert) Shandy of Coeur-d-Alene, Idaho; Victoria (Ebert) Lirette and her husband, David, of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five sisters-in-law. David was a veteran of World War II, having served in China and Burma, India from 1944-1946 as a Sergeant in heavy equipment. On June 2, 1951, he married Christina R. Bowersock, who survives. Mr. Bowsher worked for 40 years at Lima Register as a press operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elida. He loved his family, especially all his grandchildren, and he greatly enjoyed camping and fishing, and his dog, Christopher. She was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Gresham, Wis., to William Clark and Margaret (Miller) Davids. She was raised in the Stockbridge-Munsee Community in East Central Wisconsin before settling in McCune after World War II. She had been a part of the Mc-Cune community for 70 years. In 1941, she married James Edward Comer Jr. in Wisconsin. He preceded her in death in 1970. She worked as a registered nurse for the Public Health Administration in Kansas for more than 40 years. She retired in the mid 1970s. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Parsons, the Professional Nursing Organization and Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans. Survivors include two sons, Phil Comer of McCune and Steve Comer and his wife, Kate Hubbs, of Sand Lake, N. Y.; three grandchildren, Debra Criner, Kayli Comer and Colton Comer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vanderpoel 1919-2008 Wayne Gaylord Vanderpoel, 89, died Dec. 12 in Cheyenne at Mountain Towers. Wayne was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Lodi, Wis., the son of Alfred L. and Idelia (Rutlin) Vanderpoel. He grew up and received his education there, graduating from high school in Shawano, Wis. He went on to attend Oshkosh State Teachers College for two years from 1937 to 1939 before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Basic training was at Scott Field in Belleville, Ill. Wayne's flight training was at Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas, and eventually he served as a navigator instructor at Kelly Field. He furthered his flight training at Tulsa, San Angelo and San Antonio. He was assigned to a tow-target squadron at Liberty Field in Savannah, Ga., and later spent a year at Wilmington, N.C., and on Long Island for a year. He was taking combat training at Florence, S.C., when the war ended on Victory over Japan Day in August 1945. Upon discharge, Wayne served Northeast Airlines as a second officer on a New England commuter line. He spent two years working for the airline while attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology at Boston. In February 1947, he enrolled at the University of Wyoming where he took his degree in mathematics in 1948. He then taught school at Huntley High School from 1948 to 1951 when he became a representative for State Farm Insurance in Torrington, where he continued until his retirement 41 and a half years later. He married Lila Burr Chapman in Savannah in 1944 and the marriage ended in divorce. In June 1949, Wayne married Sally Rouse Keeline at All Saints Episcopal Church in Torrington. Wayne served two terms as a senator in the Wyoming Legislature, six years on the Wyoming State School Board and as board chairman of Eastern Wyoming College. He was one of the people responsible for laying the corner stone for the first permanent building on the EWC campus. Wayne served as president of the Torrington Club, Rotary International, chairman of the Senior Friendship Center Board, chairman of the Board of Diversified Services, chairman of the Board of the Goshen County Department of Public Assistance and was a member of the Goshen County Chamber of Commerce. He was also a captain in the Wyoming Army National Guard from 1951 to 1963, retiring with 24 total years of military service. Wayne was a member of the American Legion Post No. 5 and All Saints Episcopal Church where he served as senior warden, junior warden and treasurer many times. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Sanford; his daughter, Sally Jo Cashner in 2000, and his son, Philip Rouse Vanderpoel in 2002. Wayne is survived by his wife, Sally of Torrington; his daughter, Gay Vanderpoel Woodhouse of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Melanie Anderson, Elizabeth Yaden, Sarah Vanderpoel, Dustin Woodhouse and Houston Woodhouse; great-grandchildren, Keiser Wolfe, Griffin Wolfe and Makenzie Woodhouse; his brother, T.L. Vanderpoel, Jr. of Shawano, Wis.; and a sister, Vanis Neuman of Gresham, Wis. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Torrington with the Rev. Mary Jellison officiating. His ashes will be interred in Cheyenne at a later date.
