Mae was a member of the Manawa United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the Mary Circle. She enjoyed sewing, was an excellent cook and loved fishing, traveling and playing cards. Rev. Gary D. Stubenvoll, died on December 30, 2005 at his home in Wisconsin, after a battle with cancer. Rev. Stubenvoll was born on May 21, 1935 in Shawano, WI, the son of Rev. Reuben Stubenvoll and Doris Johnson Stubenvoll. He was raised in Caroline, WI. Rev. Stubenvoll received a bacholor's degree from Waverly College, a Masters of Divinity from Wartburg Seminary and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Iowa. He was ordained by his father in June of 1963, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillet, WI. He met Rosalie Burnham while serving a two-year residency in Pastoral Counseling in Elgin, Illinois. They were married on June 3, 1960 in Canton, Illinois. Rev. Stubenvoll began his professional career with Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, first serving as a pastor-social worker and later as Vice-President of Program Services. He also spent over 10 years as Vice-President of Pastoral Services of Illinois. After serving serveral years as a co! nsultant with Family Service of America in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he moved to Chicago to serve as the Director of Social Ministry Organizations for Church and Society with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In that position, he related to the more than 250 affiliated social ministry organizations across the U.S. He also was a moving force in the establishment of Lutheran Services in America. He retired in 2000 and moved to South Carolina. Rev. Stubenvoll loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He was also a licensed pilot. In his later years, he enjoyed exploring new areas of the country with Rosie and his dog. This included many trips to visit and spoil his new grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marion Emerson. He is also survived by his wife, Rosalie; his son, Eric (Jill); grandsons, Jack and Shaun. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on January 12, 2006 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 W! . Higgins Road, Schaumburg, Illinois. Rev. Edward Paape will officiate at the service. Audrey was a homemaker most of her life, but she worked seasonally for Miles Kimball and also worked as a telephone operator. She was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing solitaire, doing yard work, watching sports and was an avid Packer, Brewers and Badgers fan, but mostly she enjoyed her loving grandchildren. I knew William Carl Strei was from Stettin Germany and that he had a brother August Strei and a sister we called Minnie Strei.William and August lived around the town of Underhill and Minnie lived in Pulcifer until she died. All your information seems very good and like I said it much more complete than mine. I would be very interested in your source of information about his parents. Also could you tell me more about Emile Strei (1869-1909)where she lived and if she had any children. To my knowledge August & Wilhelmine did not have any children. She died Feb. 5, 1996, at age 99. Mrs. Neumeister was born Jan. 8, 1897, in Pella, Wis. She graduated from Portland's Jefferson High School and also from the Girls Polytechnic High School. She was a retired seamstress and dress designer. Her husband, Alfred H., died in 1980. Survivors include her son, Robert A. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Steege -- of Batavia Private funeral services for Linda L. Steege, 96, of The Holmstad Retirement Community in Batavia, will he held in Clintonville, Wis. Born Nov. 20, 1903, in Pella, Wis., to August and Lydia Ewald, she passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Michealsen Health Care Center, Batavia. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Mrs. Steege spent her formative years in Marion, Wis., and later moved to Clintonville following her marriage to Arthur E. Steege on Nov. 15, 1928. She was a former member of Clintonville Baptist Church and most recently had attended First Baptist Church in Batavia. Mrs. Steege lived a very active life, including being a member of the Women's Temperance Union and a flower enthusiast. Most of all she devoted her life to her beloved family and was blessed with a memory for the birthdays of all her family and friends. She will be particularly remembered for her baking talents and especially chocolate chip cookies. Surviving are her daughter, Vernelle (Stanley) Bristol of Northfield; daughter-in-law, Myrtle Steege (Edgar) Anderson of Ironwood, Mich.; grandchildren, Mark (Dianne) Bristol of Omaha, Neb., Kelley (Timothy) Carlson of Denver, Colo., Kent Bristol of Colorado, Kimberly (Thomas) Pavlovich of Andover, Minn., and Rod (Jodie) Anderson of Dorr, Mich.; and great-grandchildren, Anna and Brent Pavlovich, Natalie, Andrew and Katie Bristol, and Tyler and Peter Carlson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Steege; son, John Steege; and brothers, Alvin and Carl Ewald.
