Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Kevin Ader officiating. Burial will be in Wanderers Rest Cemetery Tuesday, in Gillett, WI. Visitation will be at the Higgins Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids , Sunday, from 4-7 p.m. and then again at church from 9-10 a.m. Monday. Arnold was born October 7, 1935, to Julius and Anna (Winkler) Moser in rural Underhill, WI. He married Shirley Yost June 6, 1959 in Pulcifer, WI. She died Sept. 11, 2002. Arnold served in the U.S. army and was employed by Consolidated Paper Co. Inc., for many years in both Appelton and Wis. Rapids. Survivors include his children: Robert (Brenda), Oshkosh; Mark (Kathryn), New London, and Julie (Mike) Hartjes, Summit Lake; a sister Helen (Gary) Lisowe, Gillett, WI.; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. The Higgins Funeral Home of Wis. Rapids assisted the family with local arrangements. Schneider Leonard J. Schneider, age 82, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at his home with his family at his side. Born on March 16, 1927 in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Emil and Christina (Kubale) Schneider. Leonard was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during World War II. On May 24, 1952 he was united in marriage to Marian Buelow in Clintonville. Together the couple lived in Sauk City for two years and in Juneau for three years, finally settling in Hartford where they lived for the next 45 years. While in Hartford, Leonard was the band director at Hartford Union High School for 31 years. In 1988 he retired and the couple moved to the Shawano area in 2002. Leonard was a member of the St. Martin Catholic Church in Cecil. He was also a member of the Wisconsin Band Masters Association and W.E.A. Leonard is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Marian; six children, Daryl (Kathy) Schneider of Shawano, Diane (Richard) Hicks of Sugarcreek, Ohio, Kathryn (Charles) Bublitz of Lomira, Jennifer (Cole) Braun of Oconomowoc, David (Myrna) Schneider of Pardeeville, Jackie Schwingel of Adams; 12 grandchildren, Bradley, Derek, Ursula, Kevin, Eric, Marla, Ross, Andrew, Craig, Evan, Lydia, Kyle; and four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Greta, Creighton, Layla. Leonard is further survived by: a sister, Corrine (John) Vieth of Sister Bay; and two brothers, Don (Doris) Schneider of Akron, OH and Rodney (Gael) Schneider of Phoenix, Ariz. Leonard was preceded in death by: his parents; seven sisters; and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Shawano American Legion Post 117 at the funeral home following the service. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. He was born April 5, 1922 to Martin and Catherine (Sroka) Zima. Stanley served in the Infantry 114th Regiment44th Division First Battalion during World War II throughout France, Germany, and Austria. His unit landed on the beaches of Normandy. On October 26, 1946 he married Evelyn Smigelski at St. Casimir Church in Krakow. The couple resided in Krakow most of their married life. Evelyn preceded him in death in October of 1997. After his discharge from the Armed Forces, Stanley worked in construction for Tenor Brothers and as a mechanic at Zima's Garage. He also ran a dairy farm and operated his own welding and repair shop in Krakow. His list of inventions begins with a four-hundred horsepower snowblower and his unique tricycles, one of which travels the country with the Shriners. Stanley was a member of the PLAV Post #178, Krakow and the VFW Post #9719, Pulaski. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis & Kathy Zima, Oconto Falls; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol & Ed Galkowski, Keshena, Cindy Rocheleau and special friend Denis Hujet, Krakow, Joan & Jim VanDenElzen, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Allan Zima, Shawn Nowak, Dawn Drahiem, Dionne Rocheleau, Todd Rocheleau, and Jesse VanDenElzen, six step-grandchildren; Jamie VanDenElzen, Shawn Galkowski, Tanya Baenen, Tiffany Gumina, Jim Ritter, Eric Ritter; four great-grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Demeny, and two brothers, John Zima and Casey Zima. In addition to his parents and his wife, Evelyn, he was preceded in death by four sisters; Mary Gurke, Margaret Jagodzinski, Regina Pawelczyk and Judy Karolczak, and three brothers, Joseph, Anton, and Frank Zima. Eugene C. "Gramps" Spranger, age 79, of Black Creek, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born April 5, 1930, in Navarino, son of the late Clarence and Viola (Conradt) Spranger. On May 19, 1951, he married Betty Kappell. The couple moved to Appleton and later settled on their farm in Shiocton. Farming brought Gene and his family to their final homestead on Highway G, where they retired in 1986. In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by three daughters: Nancy (Marshall) Ort, Shiocton; Sue Fischer, Appleton; Kathy (Randy) Schmidt, Black Creek; three sons: Bill (Carla) Spranger, Appleton; Jim (Cheryl) Spranger, Clintonville; Eugene Jr. "Smiley" Spranger, Black Creek; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous foster children including: Cora Gegare, Appleton and Debbie McGlin, Black Creek. Gladys M. Prahl, age 89, of Clintonville, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the New London Family Medical Center. Gladys was born on May 24, 1920, in Split Rock, WI, the middle child of the late Emil and Phyllis Rose (Nero) Seefeldt. She was baptized on July 4, 1920, confirmed in October of 1934, both at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock; the church of which her father helped build. Gladys lived in Colorado Springs, CO, a few years where she was a sales person for the Woolworth Company. She returned to Clintonville, where she worked at Schultz Brothers over six years. On November 14, 1942, Gladys married Edward Prahl at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The couple owned and operated Prahl Radio & TV in Clintonville for over 50 years. Mr. Prahl preceded his wife in death on May 12, 1999, after 56 years of marriage. Gladys was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. She served 36 years as ballot clerk for the Clintonville Election Board. She dearly loved her family, her home and yard, flowers and birds. Gladys crocheted countless afghans and doilies and knitted many socks for her family and friends. She also enjoyed collecting dolls, china, glass ware and angels. She touched many lives with her kindness, humor and positive outlook on life. Survivors include her precious son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Donna Mae Prahl, Little Chute; her brother: Howard (Deloris) Seefeldt, Tigerton; her sisters-in-law: Evelyn Seefeldt Trammer, Magnolia, CA; Carol Seefeldt, Colorado Springs, CO; her brother-in-law, Wallace (Juanita) Prahl, Neenah; a special niece, Dawn Kersten, Tigerton; special cousins: Mary Ann Bazile, Neenah; Cathy Flowers, Brooklyn Park, MN; several special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; three brothers: Harold, Lester and Harvey Seefeldt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a very special nephew, Danny Seefeldt. Tomashek Robert D. Tomashek, age 72, of Cloverleaf Lake Road, Clintonville, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa. Robert David Tomashek was born March 6, 1937 in Milwaukee to the late Bernard and Viola (Allender) Tomashek. After graduating high school he entered the U.S. Air Force serving from 1955 to 1958 as a B36 and B52 Tail Gunner. Bob was united in marriage on Sept. 8, 1956 to Polly R. Jens in Milwaukee. He was employed by General Motors / Delco in Oak Creek for over 30 years as an electronics engineer, retiring at the end of 1998. His wife Polly preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 2000. On April 13, 2002 he married Frances (Nans) West in Hartford. Bob is a former president of the Cloverleaf Lake Association and a former supervisor for the Town of Belle Plaine. He is an active member of St. Rose Church; volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister, singing in the Men's Choir, and serving as Sexton for the Parish Cemetery. His other interests included golfing, fishing, camping, and he was an avid Packer fan. Bob especially enjoyed "wintering" in Florida, going on trips out west to the mountains, relaxing on the lake, and spending time with family. Survivors include his wife, Fran, and four children; Terri (Jeff) Makoutz of Sparks, Nev., Cindy (Wayne) Peshek of Pewaukee, Sandra Tomashek of Brookfield, and David (Jane) Tomashek of Hartford. There are 13 grandchildren; Josh (Jill), Jason, Drew (Alex), Luke, Anna and Daniel Makoutz, Katie and Megan Peshek, Adam, Tyler, Tia, Alex and Mya Tomashek. There are three great-grandchildren; Ruby, Adeline and Lucy Makoutz. Bob is further survived by a brother, Dick (Ria) Tomashek of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Donna (Gary) Madison of Mukwonago; three step children, a step grandson and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Polly, and a brother, Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30th at 5 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Fr. Gluth Lyle A. Gluth, age 63, of the Township of Larrabee, Waupaca County, Wis. passed away early Tuesday morning July 28, 2009 at the Cherry Meadows Hospice Center in Appleton, Wis. Lyle was born on May 13, 1946 in New London, Wis. He was the son of the late Herman and Livia (Fandrey) Gluth. Lyle graduated from Clintonville High School in 1964 and was a member of the State Clintonville Trucker Basketball Team in 1963. He was employed by Marion Body Works, Truck City Sales, Clintonville Refrigeration, and currently at Menominee Casino in Keshena. He was a faithful member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. One of Lyle's hobbies was playing slow-pitch softball as a member of the "Untouchables" in Clintonville. He was an avid outdoorsman active in most any hunting and fishing activities. Lyle was a past member of the Clintonville Curling Club and also the Big Falls Bow Hunters. Those who knew Lyle well will always remember his catch phrase "No problem." He had a great personality and will be missed by many. Survivors include his companion of 34 years, LaVerne A. Duda Audrey R. (Sneller) Duda, age 81, of Township of Pella, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Shawano. Born on June 18, 1928 in Fond du Lac, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Sophia (Pranke) Starks. Throughout her life, Audrey lived in several places including New Mexico and Missouri. On Dec. 12, 1944 she was united in marriage to Philip Derozier in Union Grove. Philip preceded her in death. On June 16, 1961 she married Donald Duda in Waukegan, Ill. Donald preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1978. Audrey lived most of her adult life in Wisconsin, first in Racine and then the Shawano area for the last 50 years. Audrey enjoyed doing crafty projects, collecting Barbies, and canning tomatoes. Audrey is survived by: five daughters, Juanita Dumke of Appleton, Laura Skalitzky of Clintonville, Holly Lang of Clintonville, Pamela (Leonard) Owen of Clintonville, Cherie (Dale) Gierke of Shawano; one son, Kermit (Delores) Derozier of Clintonville; a step-daughter, Shirley (Roger) Kostick of Thorp; a stepson, Larry (Lynn) Duda of Loyal; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Audrey is further survived by brothers and sisters, Virginia Smith of Bear Creek, Joyce (Richard) Buisse of Blair, Eloy (Judy) Sneller of Union Grove, Theresa (Warren) Nelson of Fla., Dawn Davis of Neenah, Linda (Dan) Heuer of Iola; and many nieces and nephews. "Maury" Kroll, age 88, of Medford, fomerly of Shawano, passed away on Monday afternoon, July 27, 2009 at Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Medford, Wis. where he had been a resident for the past three months. Maury was born Dec. 20, 1920 in the Town of Herman, Shawano County, Wis., a son of the late John M. and Emma (Viergutz) Kroll. He attended country schools in Hermansfort and later Shawano High School, graduating in 1939. Following high school he attended the Agriculture Short Course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing the course, he returned to farm, the family homestead in the Town of Herman. On June 8, 1946 he was united in marriage to the former Hazel Jensen at Friedens Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Following their marriage the couple lived and farmed the family homestead. While farming, Maury took a part time job as a soil conservationist working throughout Shawano County. In 1965 he was hired full time as a soil conservationist for Taylor County and he moved his family to Stetsonville. He held that position for eight years, and in 1973, returned to Shawano. He was employed as a soil conservationist for Shawano County until his retirement in 1984. The couple lived in Shawano until 1993, when he and Hazel moved to Medford. Maury is a current member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford. He is a former member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano. In his younger years, Maury was an excellent baseball player and he continued his love of the game by playing softball well into his 40's in the over 40 league in the area, as well as umpiring many games. He was an avid bowler and loved playing sheephead. Maury was an excellent dancer and he loved to Polka. He had been a very faithful member of the Golden "K" Kiwanis Club. He was also a charter member of the Red River Sportsman Club. Maury had served on the Stetsonville Volunteer Fire Department while living there. Survivors include: his wife, Hazel of Medford; three daughters, Karen (Tom) Krebsbach of Medford; Krista (Tim) Ludwig of Mayville; Karla (Arthur) Klimpke of Medford; four grandchildren, Stephen Ludwig, Daniel (Meredith) Ludwig, Bethany Ludwig and Rebekah Ludwig; two brothers, Donald Kroll of Bonduel and Robert Kroll of Shawano; one sister, Ilamae Buckoski of Green Bay; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lorian Wichmann. A memorial service for Maurice Kroll will be held on Monday, Aug. 3 at 3 p.m. at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano, Wis. Pastor James Naumann will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery of Shawano. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Cerylla was born on Dec. 30, 1918, in Pulaski, Wis., to Jacob (JaJa) and Victoria (Busia) Styczynski. In 1939, she met Ray Reis when they were both asked to join a band a mutual friend was organizing. This began a life-long love affair with both music and Ray. In November 1939, Cerylla and Ray were married and in 1946 they moved to a farm on East Pearl St., on the outskirts of Seymour, where she lived the rest of her life. Cerylla, Ray and their band toured Northeast Wisconsin for nearly three decades as the Ray Reis Orchestra, playing for weddings, dance clubs and other social engagements. Ray always introduced Cerylla as "My Lovely Lady." On Mother's Day, 1978, Ray died suddenly while playing a dance in Green Valley. Cerylla was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew, Alex and Raymond. She is survived by her loving sister, Martha Blohowiak (James), brother, Robert Styczynski (Shirley); children, Daniel Reis, Marlene Genske, Michael Reis (Peg) and Sandra Deadman (Bruce); grandchildren, Jane McSweeny (Chris), Tim Genske (Sylvia Ferron Yalka), Sara Payne (Ronnie), Tina De Leon, Anne Reis (Owen Boyle) and Kate Reis (Brian Guy); great-grandson, Stevie Ray Genske; numerous nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren, Foster and Stephen Deadman; special friend, Grace Helms; and many other good friends who provided care and comfort.
