As far as I can remember you gave a helping hand, You were just that kind of person, you were just that kind of man. I watched you with a child's eyes, and in wonder I did see, The many gifts and talents of all you gave were free. I watched you drive a grader, that's so impressed me. You could take a worthless treasure and make it look so grand, Your gift was like our Saviors, a life changed by the master's hand. Of course you were not perfect, only in heaven is that true, Now with silent eyes and resting arms, your life is made anew, I am glad I got to know you, you left an imprint on my heart Of giving of your time and talents, I'm so sad to see us part. I know it's just for a little while, but I know we'll meet again, In a land beyond the heavens where we meet our journey's end. So today I bury my father who was also my closest friend, I know I will surely miss you, my father and my friend.
