Frank had served in the U.S. Army following World War II, worked for the Nestle Corp. in Hilbert, and at the New Hope Center in Chilton for many years. He was born Jan. 26, 1934, to the late Frank and Annie (Krueger) Dingeldein in the Town of Lessor in Shawano County. Darby served his country in the U. S. Army from Nov. 12, 1953 to Nov. 4, 1955, much of that time serving in Germany. He also served in the Army Reserves. On Sept. 29, 1956, he married Carol Mott at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, Wis. He was a resident of Green Bay for 49 years. Darby was employed by Ft. Howard Paper Co. (now Georgia Pacific) retiring after 36 years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and Key Club at Ft. Howard Paper Co. For 20 years, he had been a part-time employee of the Brown County Youth Ice Hockey Center. In his early years he played baseball and softball, went to polka dances and enjoyed camping, bowling, hunting and fishing. Darby was a Packer season ticket holder for many years and he and his friend attended the Packers Ice Bowl game. In recent years, he enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and Cubs on television, along with western-themed television shows. Darby was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where he served on the church council a number of years ago and was a Cub and Boy Scout leader for Calvary's scout troops. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carol; three sons, Steven (Shari), David, Bradley (Kim); one daughter, Connie Jones; one granddaughter, Kayla; five grandsons, Jason (Amy), Eric, Robert, Shawn, and Tyler; one great-granddaughter, Amirah; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Fern Echtner; Iris (Donald) Ebsch; and Marie McCoy; brother-in-law, Allan Mott; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother-in-law, June and Pearl and Harold Hove; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Edna), Eugene (Edna) and Frank (Gladys); three brothers-in-law, Marvin Echtner, James McCoy and Orvin Eake; two nephews; and his mother and father-in-law, Maynard and Lillian Mott. He battled cancer for 11 years. Larry was born on Feb. 16, 1937, to Leonard and Evelyn (Thiede) Heimer, in the town of Hartland south of Bonduel, Wis. He grew up on the family farm where he learned his core values of hard work, thrift, kindness, and compassion. He attended Bonduel High School and graduated as the class Salutatorian in 1955. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point for 2 years. His passion was math and science. Larry married Jane M. Brede on March 1, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake, near Cecil, Wis. Larry worked at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. In 1958 he moved to Rockford, Illinois, and began his beloved job at Sundstrand Corporation. Later, he went to White- Sundstrand in Belvidere. After his retirement in 1991, Larry was a daily volunteer at Jefferson High School. He was also an active member of the Those Who Excel committee since 1997 and created all the posters for the nominees. Larry is survived by Jane, his wife of 51 years; two sons, Keith (Bev) of Marysville, Pa. and Mark (Tammy) of Rockford; three grandchildren Jordan, Andrew and Gracie Heimer; one step-grandchild Karen; two step- great-grandchildren Cortney Daughenbaugh and Shane; one step- great- great- grandchild Vidya; one brother Dennis (Karen) of Neenah, Wis.; one Uncle Bill (Vange) Theide of Bonduel, Wis. and in addition, he is missed by his beloved cats. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fellars and his staff, Dr. Edwards and his staff, and to all who assisted him at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Ruth Jansen became his wife on Feb. 4, 1951 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hayes. Lee served in the Army during the Korean war. He returned to farm in Breed Township until retiring in 1994. Following retirement Lee was a school bus driver for 10 years. He served as a past director for Suring Shipping Association for 20 years. He also served as a Supervisor for Breed Township. His pastimes included fishing, hunting, with a special love for his grandkids. Lee was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hayes, where he had also served as a Church Trustee. Survivors include his wife Ruth, of Suring; two daughters, Shary (Robert) Johnson of Suring and Larae (Ken) Hischke of Mishicot; two sons, Larry (Diane) Schuettpelz of DePere and Stuart (Brenda) Schuettpelz of Gillett; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by an infant son Ralph in 1955, a sister Pearl, and three brothers, Russel, Burton and Raymond. Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation continues at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Johns Lutheran Church until services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Shane Cota officiating. She did die in Shawno, but was born in Antigo in Langlade County. I will post a message over there once and see if there is a chance she had still lived there at the time of her death. She was born Feb. 28, 1920, to the late Frank and Elsie (Spry) Zastrow. On April 15, 1944, she married LeRoy Steiner. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2001. Following their marriage, Doris and LeRoy operated the family farm in the town of Angelica until retiring in 1988. Doris was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zachow, and was a longtime member of the Ladies Aid. Doris enjoyed cooking and was known to bake a great apple pie. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, puzzles and playing games. She is survived by her four children, Pat (Bob) Krueger, Wabeno; Michael Steiner, Marshfield; David (special friend, Joanie) Steiner, Green Bay; and Ruth Steiner, Angelica. Also survived by five grandchildren, Bob (Chastity) and Luke (Kelly) Krueger, Chad (Amy), Matt (Jamie), and Brandon Steiner; two great-grandchildren, Cole Krueger and Alexander James Steiner. She is further survived by her three sisters, Edna Rusch, Oconto Falls; Elda Miller, Green Bay; and Linda Haag, Green Bay; a brother, Ted (Angie) Zastrow, Gillett; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Walter Rusch, Delbert Miller, and Ervin Haag. Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zachow, with Pastor Philip Geiger officiating. She was born Sept. 15, 1933 in Keshena to the late William J. and Josephine (Hanks) Waupoose. She married Walter J. Peters, Sr. on Feb. 6, 1956 in Shawano. He preceded in death on July 5, 1992 She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Neopit, and the Devine-Menting American Legion Auxiliary, Phlox. She was born and lived her entire life on the Menominee Reservation. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, gardening, watching the Green Bay Packers and going to the casino. Holl Joseph M. Holl, age 90, of Suring, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at his home. Born on April 24, 1919 in Hayes, he was the son of the late Joseph Charles and Anna Christine (Philippi) Holl. Joseph served with the 821st Army Air Corps during World War II. On June 11, 1966 he was united in marriage to Helen J. Snoza in Omaha, Neb. He drove truck for several years at Ansorg Distributing and also as Head Sawyer at Linwood in Mosling. Joseph then worked in security for Mirro Aluminum in Gillett. Joseph had been an active member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring where he was the sexton for the cemetery for 13 years and was on the Parish Council. He was currently a member at the St. John Catholic Church in Gillett. Joseph was a member of the Gillett American Legion Post 300 for 62 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Joseph is survived by: his wife, Helen; two sons, Joseph J. (Renee) Holl of Shawano, Jason P. Holl of Bonduel; four grandchildren, Jenna Leigh, Jesslyn, Sarrah, Jadyn; and three sisters, Veronica Cameron of Omaha, Neb., Christina Malish of Antigo, and Stephana (James) Ward of Green Bay. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and six sisters. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 at the Holl residence, 13405 Hayes Road, Suring, with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Wisconsin Funeral Honors Program and the Gillett American Legion Post 300 at the residence following the service.
