"Anybody who graduated from Tigerton High School got an invitation," said Debby Griepentrog, one of the planners. Several events are scheduled, beginning at 11 a.m. with a rededication of the school, which underwent remodeling this summer. They will introduce a time capsule at 11:30 a.m. the school and local businesses have been invited to contribute to. >From noon to 3, there will be tours of different sites in Tigerton including the schools, school forest, Historical Society, 1904 Village Hall, Legion Park and Blue Ribbon School, which is about five miles south of Tigerton on Split Rock Road. Alumna Cheri Wogsaland, who graduated in 1985, will play her concertina in the school commons from 3 to 4 p.m., after which there will be a teacher meet-and-greet session. Hauser's Hotshots will play in the gym in the evening so dancers can kick up their heels on the new gym floor. Admission to the dance is $5. Weather permitting, the evening will end around 11 p.m. with fireworks. Griepentrog said there is excitement about the event. "We don't know how many are coming, but there's lots of people talking about it," Griepentrog said. "Families are getting together and having mini reunions that weekend. We've heard from a former bus driver, former students, former employees. We're kind of excited about that." There will be some special mementos including a T-shirt and memory book that had to be pre-ordered. Griepentrog said some of the books may be available that day, but she was not sure. Also, the committee arranged with the Tigerton Post Office to have a cancellation made up for the day that will include a picture of the 1919 building. Griepentrog has been working with Debbie Harvey, the committee chairman, and Wanda Tucker along with other volunteers to plan the event. "Everybody working together made it better," Griepentrog said.
