He was married to Elizabeth Farley, she died Christian County, Missouri in 1883. They had James Jr, b 1859 in Tennessee Henry C. b 1855 in Tennessee Nancy C. b 1861 Missouri Robert J. b. 1868 Missouri After Elizabeth died, James married Mary T. Wilhite Smith a widow with a son, Tom. Mary was born Feb. 12, 1855 Searcy, Arkansas and died May 20, 1930 Wheeler,Texas. James and Mary had 3 children: Francis C. b 1887 Christian County, Missouri Jesse F. b 1888 Christian County, Missouri Annie May b 1892 Christian County, Missouri.
