I am researching a branch of the Wise family from Tennessee. My grandfather, Leonard Wise, was born about 1910 in Knoxville TN, and married Josephine Jenkins, born about 1905 in Jackson County TN. They moved to Peoria IL before their first child, James Bruce Wise, was born in 1941. They had two subsequent children, Patricia and William. I am at a standstill in my research and am becoming increasingly frustrated. Family lore has it that one of my paternal great grandmothers was pure blooded Cherokee.
