Hello Lynn and Lee-- Do you happen to be related to James Wise 1781 SC - 1858 Claiborne Par. LA who m Permelia Miller in SC--possibly Marion Co.? They had about 16 children, and a group of us descendants are working on finding their parents and as many descendants as possible. There is a James Wise Marion Co. MS in 1820, ours migrated to Copiah Co. MS by 1830, and is in Claiborne Par. LA in 1840 and 1850. Children: Joseph F. Wise 1812 SC-1892 LA m Caroline Lambright in MS [my line]; Archibald 1813, John James 1815, Adah Sarah 1817; Jane 1819; Ambrose Jiley 1820; Ivan 1821; Gilbert M.C. 1823; Levi 1824; Giles James 1826; Obedience Lettie 1828; Celia Ann 1829; Delilah 1830; David Nathan 1833. Some much older cousins went into the DAR connecting James Wise to the Wises of Accomac Co. VA--a connection which is generally not accepted now, from what my research is showing, along with that of others.
