April 11, 1833, Jefferson County Indiana, m. abt. 1852 Tabitha / Telitha (Lane) Wise b. November 3 , 1833, Tennessee, daughter of Ralph and Jane ?? Lane remained in Indiana. James and Rachel along with sons Mathew, Mason, daughters Deborah Wise Followwill and Margaret Wise Jeffers, and other family members moved on to Schuyler County, Missouri and Page County, Iowa they remained in and around these areas untill after 1865 when James and Rachel returned to live their remaining lives with son Bennett in Washington Township, Brown County, Indiana, d. 1880, and 1889.
