The Wise Family in MS & LA might be from the Benjamin Wise family of Rutherford, Rowan and Burke Co., NC. December 25, 1814 Jefferson County, Indiana Terriorty, she was the daughter of Mason Watts and Deborah Ryker. Departed Jefferson County moveing north to Salt River Township, Decater County Indiana, then to Washington Township, Brown County, Indiana in the early 1840's. Part of the family son, Bennett, b. April 11, 1833, Jefferson County Indiana, Tabitha / Telitha (Lane) Wise b. November 3 , 1833, Tennessee, daughter of Ralph and Jane ?? Lane remained in Indiana. James and Rachel along with sons Mathew, Mason, daughters Deborah Wise Followwill and Margaret Wise Jeffers, and other family members moved on to Schuyler County, Missouri and Page County, Iowa they remained in and around these areas untill after 1865 when James and Rachel returned to live their remaining lives with son Bennett in Washington Township, Brown County, Indiana, d. 1880, and1889.
