Hello Janice Williams--read your posting of WISE/BULLOCK. Observed with interest your Nathaniel "Nathan" Wise b before 1744 in SC. Our earliest known Wise is James Wise b. 1783 possibly VA, possibly Marion Co. SC area. He married Permelia Miller in SC. The name of one of his brothers was Jesse Wise. Possibly their father was Ambrose Wise in SC. The Wises travled westward of course, but I do not know whether they ever lived in AL...they DID live in Copiah Co. MS [southern part] for a while, then migrated to Claiborne Parish, LA [northern part]. Some moved on to Texas...Coryell Co. comes to mind. One of James' and Permelia's sons was the Rev. David Nathan Wise. There were about 17 other children!! My ancestor was the son Joseph F. Wise. Could you give some counties in TX? Ann Harper Bonner paternal grandmother was a Wise
