Mary Louise, I appreciate your E-mail. Any hope of solving this mystery is welcomed. However, I wonder if any of Christian's children were in or lived in Rockingham County. John certainly died there for I have seen his tombstone along with Hannah's (his wife) and some of his children and in-laws graves. In those days apparently, every eldest son was named John in the WISE family and I have a feeling that his father also was named John. You're right, the time frame is right on.
