Ken, I'm jumping in on your reply to K. Ellis. Hope you don't mind. My 4th gr grandfather was Christian Wise who left an 1816 will in Hardy Co., Va (now WVA). Although there were 10 people in his household in the 1782/4 state census, I have only been able to come up with four of his children and nothing on a wife. The four known children are Frederick who m Elizabeth Ketner (my line); Lydia who m George Wilkins; Barbara who m Thomas Stone; John. The only one whose date of birth I have is Barbara who was born 1769. Your John's date of birth would certainly put him in the right time frame to fit in as a child of Christian Wise. Mary Louise
