Barbara Robins WISE, dau. of John and Hannah (SCARBOROUGH) WISE, and gd. dau. of Arthur ROBINS, 1694, all of Accomac County, Virginia. The WISES lived in West Devonshire, England, [p.68] before 1066, whose seventh direct descendent was Sir William WISE, 1176, nearly related to John RUSSELL, first Earl of Bedford and Lord HUNSDON, first cousin to Queen Elizabeth. Sir William WISE was the progenitor of John WISE who came to Virginia, 1635, d. November, 1695. He was the ancestor of Gov. Henry A. WISE, of Virginia; he m. Hannah SCARBOROUGH, dau. of Capt.
